Demopad for Ipad & Iphone - Page 16

I've been messing with Demopad for a few hours, plan to put it on my 32gb iPad Mini. Creating the screens and graphics is coming easy to me. I also understand the IR codes (for the most part). I have the following equipment:
Emotiva UMC-1 processor (fortunataly Emo publishes remote codes so I think I'm ok on these)
PS3 using a Nyko BluWave USB IR dongle (no idea how to get IR codes)
LG TV 50PA5500 (no idea how to get IR codes)
Dish Network PVR ViP722k (no idea how to get IR codes)
Lutron Maestro IR Dimming Light Switch (no idea how to get IR codes)
Insten iPod dock DAPPiPODCRA9 (no idea how to get IR codes)

How do I get codes for the above equipment? I read about Pronto Edit and downloaded the software but have no idea how to continue and searching did not help.
When do you and when do you not push Hex Convert button in Demopad?

I ordered a WF2IR unit but it has not come yet. I plan on putting it on a shelf, I could probably hit all my rack equipment with one IR blaster but the Lutron switch is on the opposite side of the room. Could I order a TIVO 2 IR blaster cord and have one pointing in each direction since the WF2IR only has one IR Blaster port?

Thanks for any help!

Thanks, I just found those at remotecentral actually. I created a thread over at Demopad since this once has slowed down.

Sorry, I don't have any IP equipment. I would suggest creating a thread at DemoPad forum.

Anyone have IP commands for Yamaha RX-V671 ?

Ive tried the codes from Demopad forum but I can't get it to work using port 50000 and the default command suffix.

Are you able to ping the receiver's IP?

Yes I can ping the device. BTW we are neighbors, I live in Kent.

That's cool, small world, although your handle makes me a bit nervous. Lol, j/k biggrin.gif

Try these docs, you'll find the codes in there.

Out of curiosity, what else are you controlling with Demopad?

I'm using it for a Dune HD MAX, JVC RS-45, Yamaha RX-A2010, Z-wave lights via Veralite and Panasonic BDT-210.

My experience with the RS-45 after a year is that it's rather flaky when being controlled from Demopad. It powers on and off faithfully, but other commands, such as changing CMD or adjusting the iris, either don't work at all or work one out of every 10 tries. Yet a LUA script run on the Vera to do the same things, and activated as a scene from Demopad, works every time.

Hello everyone,

I am a newbie to the forum as well as to Demopad and have spent 4-5 hours on the Demopad designer trying to create a simple remote for my home theater. I have read through this entire thread soaking up as much info as I could from everyone but I am still having trouble creating the remote that I want and was wondering if anyone would mind sharing a phone file or pad file that has some of the extra bells an whistles programmed into it so I can play around with a completed project to really understand how everything works ?
I understand that building these are very time consuming and I don't want to steal anyones hard work, I really just want to see how a proper file is built so I can try to build one of my own. I love this software and am blown away by some of the remotes that people in this thread have created.

Cheers

I would highly recommend downloading a couple of the sample projects from Demopad's web site. I cannot stress enough how valuable they are in helping a new user "see the light". The sample projects give you the opportunity to dissect the layout and visually see how things are put together. In my opinion, they are the most valuable training tool there is.

Thanks mborner,
I downloaded one of the sample projects already but didn't know that there were others available, Ill go back and try downloading another.
