Screen obstruction

I have never owned a projector before will be buying a 8350 in the coming weeks.

But my question is about screen placement. My basement is only 7ft. 3ft from the wall I have a support beam that is 6in. I will have my projector ~12ft from screen no more than 1ft hanging..(im 6'2" so dont want to bump head).. But what I am wondering is if that beam will be in the way with the top of the screen 1ft down from the ceiling. Or if the beam(painted flat white...) will cause bad reflection.

I can move where I will have the setup, but this is the best location for all my components and such.

Can you draw it out (to scale) on graph paper on in a designing app? That should show you.

Just take a flashlight and hold it where you plan on mounting the projector. Aim it at where you are thinking of hanging the screen. Move it up and down, and it should be obvious how high you can hang the screen.

It would help your theater set up to paint ceiling and walls a darker color.

Im not sure how a projector is projected. like a flash light im sure isnt as focused as a projector is. the lens of the projector based on the numbers ive gotten will be a good 4-6in below the beam. I just really have no idea
