Yup unless they have hidden it somewhere and I have not found it.
Laters,
Jeff
I haven't played with the new version of Netflix much so I may be making a lot of mistakes. that's why I'm labeling it first impressions.
Okay, let me get my rant out of the way first. Jeff is right. It seems like they eliminated Netflix viewing parties. This was the key differentiator between the 360 version and every other version out there (be it Wii, PS3, Roku, Apple, etc.). Now, it's feature equivalent to anything else out there which is unfortunate.
On other notes, they've added surround sound audio and subtitles which was lacking in the previous version.
The new layout shows a lot more titles at the same time, but the look isn't as sharp as before and it seems like the resolution is lower as the screen now has a softer look to it.
They improved the Kinect functionality a lot! Luckily, they preserved the hand gesture navigation which made the 360 Netflix special. On other platforms (or if you use a 360 game controller with Netflix or media center remote), you could only scan forward like a DVD (10x, 20x, etc.). so if you wanted to start at a very particular scene, you had to scan until you reached that scene. But with kinect, you could grab the slider, move to the exact scene you want and then pull down to start playback. much faster and much more precise.
The Kinect voice control seems like before. The advantage of the Kinect in this situation is only in the event your controller goes to sleep after awhile so you can use voice to navigate rather than waking up your controller again. Otherwise, there's no advantage to voice as it just repeats the game controller controls (i.e., to scan, you say "forward" and then to manually scan faster, you say "faster").
The huge difference for Kinect users with the new Netflix is you have full control of the app now. Before, you only could choose from a very small "recommended" list. You couldn't even watch your instant queue via Kinect. So previously, Kinect was only really useful once your movie or show started.
But now you can navigate the various genres, pick movies, watch your instant queue, etc. You can even do a search with Kinect hand gestures! Though it's not useful for search, it's kind of neat. What you do is you put your hand over the letter you want and then you slide your hand upward or downward to select it. Again, it's better to use a keyboard, chatpad, or game controller for the search function but at least they give you an option now.
Navigation of the hand cursor is sluggish at the Netflix main menu though so I don't see using Kinect hand gestures at the main menu.
I didn't really try out the voice commands at the main menu though because I spent a lot of time trying out the other new video apps like Syfy, Dailymotion, etc. But I will soon. If it works like the voice recognition in other areas of the 360, I'll be happy about that.
Anyone playing with the new Netflix app notice that black levels are broken? The Netflix interface properly renders black as black, but black in video is just kind of gray. It's like they are spitting out 16-255 inside of a 0-255 stream.
If Microsoft discovered a last minute nasty bug, then it's better to delay the update. I don't understand what is wrong with users today. Do you really want to update today that has potential to cause more problems?
Even the update comes out tomorrow, are you not able to play your X360 today?

To anyone who has the update: is it any faster?? The NXE update was faster than the original cascade NXE... For about 2min and now it's as slow as a long sh^t on a tin roof on a warm day. I want to be able to do things like [accept a private chat invite] without having to take 4 deaths while CoD waits for me to come back! Snappiness, MS! Snappy-ness!
if you put ur gamertag in cloud an then you go play on the xbox in the other room an you have to put in a password to get to use the gamertag thats lame why even bother put in it in the cloud just use a usb stick

you guys should try things out before you complain.
if you have multiple consoles at home, when you switch to the other console, you type in your email and password and then check the save password checkbox. from then on, you never have to enter the email/password again.
You also don't have to worry about someone looking it up in the profiles and writing it down because the characters are hidden.
so nelson said on tweeter that the update is live for the "First set" of customers, what does that mean? i just checked and no update.. im in New york, anyone got the update?
just got home and turned on living room xbox; update was ready to download.
looks okay so far; will take some getting used to. none of my other xbox's have offered to download it yet (before someone calls me a "spoiled douche"??? also, I have an xbox in each room used as media center extenders).
hulu now has a netflix-like activation that had to be done.
none of the new video services (youtube, vevo, etc. . .) are available, except for epix which i haven't downloaded yet. They have two tabs listed as "Coming Soon 1" and "Coming Soon 2"; #1 shows youtube, crackle, dailymotion, iheartradio, msnbc.com, syfy, tmz, and ufc. #2 lists verizon fios, vevo, vudu HD movies, mlb.tv, xfinity, hbo go.
edit to add: just downloaded epix; started the app and it says "sorry epix service isn't available right now"
another edit to add: i use the 'media center blue' background on my xbox's; the one that downloaded the update kept my background without me having to do anything; i remember reading something about themes not working with the new update, and while i don't have a "theme", it did save my custom settings.
I turned on my slim when I got home and there was no update. I eventually turned on my Elite w/ Kinect attached and got the update on that console. Weird.
