Man, the wife is going to kill me. I just bought a new sub (she will be suprised when an 90 lbs box gets to the house) and now I want speakers.

I find (and you may too) that is it best to ask for forgiveness than perission

Jon, are there ever going to be any different color options?

Havok, I thought the color was going to be a problem too. I even called Jon and talked to him about my wife painting or staining them but now they are in the room and have the black grill that covers the front almost completely I haven't heard 1 whine from the wife. I'll try to take a picture later today of them sitting beside all my dark furniture and post it so you can decide for yourself.

Man that would be awesome. Please do.

Yeah, thats the route I took with the new AVR and subwoofer. I really want towers, but I think that will be pushing it, lol.

Sorry for the quality, this is a pic from my phone. You might notice that my wife insists on "decorating" my speakers

Have you seen any posts from anyone comparing a RAAL to a dome blind?

I'm asking if you would try. Shouldn't be hard to do, and the info would be useful, yes?

Another good RAAL equipped speaker to consider is the Vaporsound Breeze.

Thanks for the pic. I love the decoration!

Interesting, you want learn more about the RAAL, but stated in another thread that it would measure inferior to a dome. So you really don't know, do you? The RAAL, as you noted, is not just related to Ascend threads...so you have plenty of places to do your research.

Actually, proper blind testing is very hard to do.

Have you heard the Vaporsound Breeze?

I would love to hear the Vaporsound Breeze. I have been following RAAL for a long time now, and have been posting info about them for a while.

You are not interested in making the effort to blind test the ribbon vs. the dome for us?

You are in a position to do so, if you choose. It really isn't that hard to do, is it?

So how do you know the Vaporsound is a good speaker?

You posted in the other thread that the RAAL doesn't measure well compared to a dome. Isn't that correct?

If you know how to do a proper blind test (have you researched this? there is/was a thread about this a while back), then you understand how difficult it is do accomplish. If someone wanted to set it up, properly, then I would gladly participate. How about you?

If not for us, Curtis, then do it for the children. Do it for the orphans of Khabarovsk.

So, how'd you like the RAAL, Tess?

Wow, read this and just spit tea on my keyboard from laughing so hard... Chu, you are something else...

Curtis (and anyone else,) you are welcome to conduct blind tests at our facility comparing any loudspeakers. However, true double blind tests are indeed quite difficult to properly setup so as long as you guys do the required work involved, we are happy to host. Impossible for Curtis to do this by himself...

Well Dave, the stories of people like Little Orphan Olga have always resonated with me.

You are incorrect.

I am an audio enthusiast, just like you. Of course I know the difficulties, but they are not as insurmountable as you suggest.

No...I don't know. That is why I asked you. So you haven't heard it, yet you think it is a good speaker.

Yet, you won't do it yourself. Never said they were insurmountable.

Tess...you seem to have a chip or something on your shoulder. If you want to troll, that is fine, but you need to stop reading so much into a post, and start backing up your own. Like your RAAL vs dome post I cited, or saying a speaker is good even though you haven't heard it. If you are an enthusiast, you should know that a speaker is a some of its parts.

Lots of misunderstanding here, I'll attempt to correct it.

No explanation necessary, I didn't make an absolute statement.

I asked if you would consider blind testing the RAAL against the dome. A simple no would suffice.

You called it a good speaker, so I wondered why. We still don't know why.

So the question should be: With the reading you have claimed to have done on the RAAL, what lead you to make that statement?

That was not your question. You wanted me to set it up. To be clear, yes, I would be willing to participate in a blind test, but setting it up is another issue altogether.

Throughout history Curtis, there have been people who chose to do the difficult thing. Joan of Arc listened to the voices in her and is known for inventing the BBQ. When people told Jeffrey Dahmer, "Bet you can't just eat one." he exceeded expectations which gave birth to the TV show, Man vs. Food. Did Bernie Madoff choose to be satisfied with not paying for a bagel in the office lunchroom?

Do the blind tests. Do it for Tess. For us. For the orphanss. Do it to cement your place in history. Just do it!
