Welcome to a much better shooter. Quickscopers cannot survive without aim assist. Most people that come to BF from COD usually get a rude awakening. Add me to your origin friend list

Is it weird that I like BF and COD games? I dunno when I want to be somewhat strategic and longer rounds I play BF. If I need a quick fix b4 dinner or calling it a night I load up COD. I hold no fanboyism towards any game really both are fun in my mind.

Nope. Not weird at all. It's good to diversify and change up on gameplay every so often. I do the same with CS and DoD. Always keep GTA4 installed too cuz it's got a bit of everything for me. I really don't care for the SP in the CoD games but I'd prolly play the MP. Doesn't help that they overcharge the f**k out of the series cuz they know they can get away with it. Not from me they aint.

I play COD for 1 reason and 1 reason only. Free for all!!! I love being a one man show, not crappy teammates to deal with, just me and death to everyone!!!!!! lol
BF3, you pretty much have to play as a team or you'll get whipped! I love playing with all my clan buddies and just screwing around. New map pack comes out Dec 13th!! Boy do they need that pack!

DO NOT go into BF3 thinking it's COD! I made the same mistake because BF3 was my first BF game.

Don't just run in the open, get cover. Watch out if there is someone before going out of cover. Try to out-think your opponent. In COD, you can just run in and hope for the best, with BF, try to hit their flank and not just run in like Rambo

Levelling your guns will help a ton.

Stick with a class first and learn the rope of it (and unlock things for it).

Also, SQUAD UP! The game doesn't auto-squad you so when the game starts, join a squad. Stick with your squadmate, it will help you learn the map and the "hot" spot where encounters mostly happen.

If you have time watch youtube BF3 gameplays from guys like d0n7bl1nk , jayekaiser or oplim77 etc. It would help a lot at the beginning.

A 2GB DLC and major update on Dec 6. It's going to be a busy day on Dec 6 waiting for all the DL stuff, but at least we are going to get the NEW old maps.... Glad DICE made the DL date the same for all platforms instead of the staggered one as 1st announced.

This game is much more fun when you play with your friend or people that cooperate!

Last night I was in a squad with one of my friend and we got the Ace Squad Ribbon every game and always got 2 of the MVP ribbons

I was on a roll last night, I was a headshot pro

Sounds like the PC is getting the patch today, but Back to Karkand won't be unlocked until the 13th, like DICE said.

Sent you and Wise Guy both friend requests on Origin but I think Wise Guy plays through Steam somehow (which I'd like to find out how if so).

You can add any non-Steam game to Steam. Open Steam and under "Library" in the lower left, there is a "Add A Game" button.

My Origin name is DeltaDeuce, and long as my BF3 name. You can add me in Battlelog and Origin if you want.

It can't be activated, but your can point Steam to the executable and boot if from Steam. It's basically pointless.

Yep thats how I have it setup. I wish it was through actual steam, as I feel seperated now having to use another digital distribution system.

Even after the update, I keep getting kicked out of any bf3 game with a message from game manager saying that I was disconnected by punkbuster for a "violation." Is this happening to anyone else? I'm having to play the inferior xbox version while this gets fixed

So I haven't really sat down and said to myself that I want to wholeheartedly make the switch to BF from COD. It definitely runs well and looks great on my PC. So I was wondering what you guys thought about both games...pluses and minuses. The lag is really bad with MW3 right now and I'm kind of ready for something new anyways. Also....what other shooters are must haves for the PC? Thnx guys.

SP military theme FPS games. I would rec the Crysis games. Great SP not sure about the MP tho. BF: Bad Company 2 is great MP (I almost pref it over BF3 for game play). Also good SP are the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon and Rainbow games.

Play both games life is too short to dedicate yourself to one specific game. If you can pickup Crysis as Tinker sugested for cheap during the Steam Christmas Sale, do so. Crysis and Crysis Warhead were some of the finest sandbox FPS for PC...then they ruined the francise by releasing Crysis 2. Also if your in the market for a coop shooter I would suggest the new Serious Sam 3. I should be picking that one up pretty soon here. Go do some research online and check out user game reviews. PC community is very critical when it comes to that..find console players will let stuff slide and pay out the nose for DLC packs. No offence to console players out there as I own all of them, they have games I cant get on PC. ex. PinballFX2 for 360.. good game.

Yeah I played Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2 on console and loved them...until I was introduced to COD a little over two years ago and then there was absolutely no going back. I tried playing them again after the fact and it just wasn't happening. Although the new Ghost Recon Online is coming out pretty soon and it's going to be free...anyone plan on playing that?

Nah man I know life's short but I like playing one game and knowing the ins and outs of every facet of the game...that's what happened with MW2. I literally (and this is no exaggeration) put 90 days on playtime into that game and loved every minute of it; well I kinda got burned out eventually. But that's the problem...some of that burnout carried over into MW3 even though it's a new game and all...it's still kinda just more of the same. I've already looked into Crysis...it's on Steam for $10. So, you guys would recommend the first Crysis over the 2nd? Oh and I'll look into Serious Sam.
