OK, so rather than wipe my HDD, I plan on replacing it with another drive I have lying around and install Windows 7 on that, dis-connecting my original drive. But I have a couple of questions:
1. Is there a way to print out my scheduled recordings? I will have to run on the new drive for a few days, meaning I will have to set up my HDHR and all the recordings during the test.
2. Will WMC play my current recordings? It will be the same computer, with only the C drive replaced. I am un-sure wether it will consider that to be a different system or not.
I didn't get any answers, so I went ahead and swapped out the hard drive.
For anyone else who needs to know, here is what I found out:
1. No. I did not find any way to print out the shcedule, but there is a way to back it up and get the new install to import the back up (google it).
2., Yes and no. All recordings from ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox, etc., play. All copy once recordings (everything else if you're stuck with TW, like me) do not.
So I am stuck with haveing to wait until I can re-install my original HDD to watch those. Meanwhile, as I make new recordings, I will not be able to watch them after I go back to my original HDD. Thanks, TW.
