Send and control video to several TV's a few hundred feet apart

I've trying to find out what options there are for getting video to several TV's that are pretty far apart. The furthest will be as much as 200' away from the source.

HDMI and HDMI over CAT6 don't seem viable from what I have seen. Any other options come to mind? I was toying around with the idea doing a video over IP system but I really don't know if that is even practical. I'd like to be able to deliver several video sources to each TV in the end.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

There's HDBT based stuff around that claims to do what you want e.g. http://www.atlona.com/ATLONA-HDMI-EX...-SUPPORT..html - matrix switches as well - http://www.atlona.com/Atlona-HDBaseT...CAT5e-6-7.html

Other companies should have similar products, was just the first that came to mind.

Great thanks. That look like exactly what I'm after. I'll start doing some research on HDBT and Atlona.

Thanks again.

You'll spend a lot of time researching this, trying to figure out a solution. I think this type of install is done fairly routinely in the commercial world. Talk to some local commercial AV installers. Might be worth a consultation fee, and you will likely be able to purchase the equipment through that installer below MSRP.

Thanks I'll do that. Trying to keep it inexpensive but it's worth some calls to the local pros. Maybe someone will take pity on me

If you're trying not to keep it inexpensive you can send me a couple grand. I have no expertise in this area, have no idea how to set up what you want, and basically am completely unqualified. But it will add expense if that's what you're after
