Any Changers that do SACD and DVD-A with HDMI?

Hi,

I have a fairly large collection of hirez multichannel music in all disc formats; SACD, DVD-A and DTS discs. I've got an Oppo DV-980H that works well, but a large changer would be more convenient. (How lazy is that?!?)

I came across a Sony DVP-CX985V 400 disc DVD player that will do SACD via analog multi outs but not DVD-A. (Got it as part of a disc batch-buy.) It sounds OK with my Onkyo PR-SC886 but I'd like an HDMI out to allow a digital connection. I've researched and seen the Sony DVP-CX995V, which is my units newer cousin.....but it still has Sony's idiotic "no-DVD-A" issue.

Is there a multi disc all-format changer with HDMI that I've missed?

I'm not sure a "megachanger" which plays SACD and DVD-A via HDMI exists. I've got the 995 and it would be great if it could also play DVD-A, but that's a competing format for Sony. I have to use my 980 for DVD-A.

Older Multi-changers like the Yammy DVD-C950 have early HDMI but there is nothing new that I know of now in a changer of any design.

Well, I feel better that my research seems to be complete. Looks like my Oppo is staying in place. I may install the Sony changer and use the analog outs and use the Oppo for DVD-A's. I have the room in my rack, and it would be a little more convenient.

Any opinions about whther the upgrade to the Sony changer with HDMI is worth the $200 or so to do it?

If you can find one the Yamaha DVD C961 will do SACD and DVD-A through HDMI. It is an excellent 5 disc DVD changer.

Rip your discs and do away with the physical transport altogether.
