Amyone heard this soundbar and/or have a review? Passive, with 4 3.5 inch woofers and 3 horn tweeters...

I've just finished mounting one to the wall; will share impressions once it's under power and integrated (also installing a Denon AVR-4311).

Did test-drive it a little in two-channel mode, with and without s/w for reinforcement... gut feel is that it's definitely going to require plenty of low-end support, but a very clear and open sound otherwise.

Went to the soundbar strictly for wife-appeasement, but since it was her idea it comes outta her side of the budget

Ran the Audyssey setup this evening, then paged through a short list of CDs and movies. Feeling slightly "meh" about the G-42 for music reproduction so far although it does yield pinpoint, articulate dialog for movies.

I suspect my listening room is a bit too big for it- but in all fairness am only just beginning to scratch the 4311's capabilities at this point, so the key to sonic nirvana may be just around the corner.

Just curious why you went with the 4311. That's a 9.1 receiver, and wow that's a lot of receiver for that sound bar and very expensive too.

The two decisions weren't really related to each other.

Regarding the 4311, I'd decided it was time to step up from an older Sony ES-series AV receiver and wanted to future-proof as much as possible- we'll likely be moving within the next year or so, and a dedicated HT room has already been established as an absolute requirement in the new place

In the current house, the soundbar yields a high SAF as it integrates well with her new den furniture The old setup was Polk LSi7s as FR/FL with a CSi6 center, and the finishes and sizes just didn't cut it appearance-wise any more.

I'll hang onto the Polks for now (still using a pair of FX300i as SR/SL) and add something in the way of a matching tower as FR/FL (or build DIY) once we get settled in the new home... the LSi7s should work well as front-wides, and I can add more rear reinforcement when the time comes. The soundbar will be recycled for bedroom or kitchen zone 2/3 usage, since she likes the styling and isn't fussy about how it sounds.

FWIW the G-42 definitely has more to offer than originally thought, now that I've dinked around a little more with the 4311... it still won't take your breath away, of course but for movie dialog at normal listening levels it's working well.

So, as for the Klipsch G-42...if you were to buy a buy a soundbar again...would that be the one?

I have mine delivered today and will be using Onkyo Tx 609 to drive this. I also did for the very same WAF. I am converting my garage in to media room with epson 9700 projector Av8003 Preamp Sherbourn 7 channel 2100 W amp. I am using this set up with Klipsch RF-7 II Speakers with this set up.

I have this speaker, hooked up with a Yamaha RX-V473 receiver, and Klipsch SW-308. For my Great room, the sound is superb!

I am also considering the G-42 to complement a system with built-in Atlantic Tech ICTS 6.3 Tri Mode rear speakers (in ceiling) and Atlantic Tech IC-NC-6 sub (in wall).

Any thoughts on how the G-42 will sound complement by the above set-up?

I have not decided on a receiver yet...
