I was directed by Richard to set everything to Large, Subwoofer on, set the crossover up high, like 140hz and distance to the same across the board. TEQ took care of delays, levels, etc.
If I had to do it over again (the Reference was a different beast ), I would keep my setup for the Rhapsody, and let the TEQ work it's magic on top of that- that way when I did the Trinnov on/ Trinnov off demo, it would be easier to see the differences.
Theoretically, I could compare the PEQ/Rhapsody settings that I created doing my thing manually to what the TEQ did for optimization. Ultimately though, whatever I could do cannot equate to the 3D remapping and optimization done by the Trinnov.
Before I began this experiment I was skeptical about what a Trinnov or Dirac could do that I couldn't with traditional signal processing techniques. Suffice it to say, I have been converted, wholeheartedly!
