IR:
Quote:
Tip: For IR interference Harmony / universal Remote Control - try this,
Take an old 3.5 diskette apart, remove and discard top and bottom shells and woven liners, then take the dark flexible plastic magnetic disk out and cut large piece from it (discard the Hub), bend it 90° and place it to cover Revue IR window, use clear-tap to tap around it.
Make sure you cover the entire IR window (top & front) & Point the remote directly to Revue.
The dark flexible plastic magnetic disk acts well as a filter, especially when TV or other devices censers active. However, any IR remote with Revue will act slightly sluggish!
Tip: IR Blasters, will extend the IR signal - it's needed, if any of the connected devices of HTS (TV/STB/AVR) to Revue are not responding when pressing [Power] - [Volume]-[input] keys on Revue's keyboard. (it can be connected regardless! - No Con's).
Revue has a strong built-in IR Blasters that will send IR signal the IR receiver of the connected devices of HTS (TV/STB/AVR) any time [Power] - [Volume]-[input] keys on Revue's keyboard are pressed - some users may place Revue in a cabinet or place the TV distance away were the IR signal can't reach/bounce - the IR Blasters comes handy - connect it to the back of Revue and place it in front of the IR receiver (IR eye) of TV /STB/AVR - (you may connect more IR Blasters via splitters & extension cables).
Note: Revue doesn't send HDMI control signals to HTS (TV/STB/AVR) via HDMI cables (like Anynet) - All control signals are send from Revue via IR.
Tip: Adding discrete IR codes to Harmony Remote Control . (Exclude Harmony 300)
Log-in to your Harmony account on members.harmonyremote.com, then go to THIS link. You don't have to learn a button first. You create it on the fly. On that page, first click "Select an Active Device" and pick your device. Then click "Manual", paste your hex into the Data Value box under Pronto, and then click "Process". If it's valid, click "Next' and you get the option to name your new command and click "Add". (thanks to first poster).
