Problems programming a Harmony 650 for my in-laws...

Hi all - I am looking for some assistance with a Harmony 650 which I'm programming for my in-laws. For reference, I have two Harmony One's, love them, and have had no problem programming or customizing those remotes (i.e., I know what I'm doing). My in-laws have a very small system consisting of a 42 plasma, cablebox, DVD player, and a surround receiver. When using the Logitech software/website, I get everything programmed in correctly without issue. However, when trying to transfer' the information to the remote itself, the progress bar gets about 25% of the way done and the computer informs me that the remote is not connected correctly. The LCD screen on the remote itself indicates that it's performing a firmware update. I've tried re-connecting the remote multiple times and also let the alleged firmware update run for a full hour to no avail. No matter what I do, I can't get the information downloaded to the remote. I've tried looking at the Harmony forums on Logitech's website and can't find anything. Anyone have any ideas before I try returning the remote for another one? Would creating a new Logitech account and entering in the information again help? Your thoughts are appreciated
