Transformers 4 and 5 May Shoot Back to Back - Page 2

Although it's still very much a rumor at this stage, Twitch is reporting that Michael Bay is interested in re-teaming with his Pain & Gain leading man, Mark Wahlberg, for Transformers 4.

The news comes on the heels of the recently reported rumor that the film may feature a female lead whose boyfriend is a Texan racecar driver.

Bay recently spoke about the project, now in development for a June 27, 2014 release, suggesting that this is likely the final Transformers adventure with him at the helm. Ehren Kruger is providing the screenplay which is rumored to take the storyline into outer space with a brand new cast of both humans and robots.

Michael Bay has said categorically that Shia LaBeouf will not be in Transformers 4.

Michael Bay said categorically that Transformers 3 would not have any "dorky humor."

Anything Michael Bay says should be taken with a pound of salt.

Well after his comments about big budget films, Indiana Jones, etc I'm really not sure he's gonna be part of the franchise again. Labeouf seems like a nice guy, but sometimes I think he should just keep his mouth shut. I don't know Michael Bay personally, but I have a feeling ungratefulness is not his cup of tea.

According to his website and his own words it's simply a rumor yet Mark Wahlberg may star in another Michael Bay film, just not Transformers 4 (...Bad Boys 3 maybe?) we'll see...

Trust me, it will likely happen. Walberg's been itching and waiting for his own BB franchise and this is perfect opportunity for him. He's done all the art house, comedy, and small time stuff. You're not a true A lister until you do a cheesy big BB that rakes in billions.

Although details are decidedly few, Spoiler TV is reporting that Michael Bay's Transformers 4 could feature a female protagonist. According to the site, a search is now underway for an actress to play the leading role of a high school senior. Also being cast, they say, is the character's boyfriend, a Texan racecar driver.

Reading this made me think of Smokey and the Bandit 3 (Cledus as the Bandit).

Two weeks ago, a rumor started to make the rounds that Mark Wahlberg would be playing the lead human role in Transformers 4. Director Michael Bay quickly squashed it and said they were just working on another project and that rumor was just a rumor. Last week, however, Bay posted this on his website:

"I squashed a rumor that was on the internet last week. It was about Mark Walhberg. Mark was rumored to be staring in Transformers 4. We are working on another movie together, not T4. I had such a great time working with Mark on Pain and Gain, and he gave such a great performance – well let’s say that very internet chatter gave me some ideas. We are at the inception of our story process right now on T4. Let’s say some ideas are gaining traction with me and my writer – so I’m here to say thanks internet chatter."

While this is by no means an official announcement, maybe we will be seeing Mark Wahlberg say hello to Optimus Prime's mother after all.

Transformers 4 is currently in development for a June 27, 2014 release. Bay has said in the past that this is likely the final Transformers adventure with him at the helm. Ehren Kruger is providing the screenplay which is rumored to take the storyline into outer space with a brand new cast of both humans and robots.

Well it is now official:

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2012/11/08/transformers-4-gets-a-new-logo-and-mark-wahlberg/

"Michael Bay has officially confirmed that the star of Transformers 4 will be Mark Wahlberg, who worked with the director on his upcoming crime tale Pain and Gain.
The Transformers sequel, planned to debut June 27, 2014, also has a sleek new logo based on the Decepticon insignia.
“Mark is awesome. We had a blast working on Pain and Gain and I’m so fired up to be back working with him. An actor of his caliber is the perfect guy to re-invigorate the franchise and carry on the Transformers’ legacy,” said Bay."

Sounds cool!

I told you so...Marky Mark & the funky transformers

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that Bay is one smartypants, he prob had Walberg honed in the whole time because now with a big markee name attached this will mean Bay will make more and more until he's dead.

Actually Shia was a bad cast before the 1st frame was ever shot. But the film would have gross billions anyways even had they cast Cory Feldman. The robots carried the film, it was just damn annoying having to watch him.

Well he's also a businessman, and until something is official it's still just a rumor. Had the negociations gone wrong with Wahlberg he would have made a fool of himself claiming he was onboard.

I just think deep down Bay really cares about his legacy and "knows" about all the negative feedback from Dark of the moon and the 1st two films that he's has to go with a marquee name like Walberg to turn things around. All the money and fame isn't enough and he really want's to be taken seriously which is why he's also doing this little indie film Pain and Gain to show his dexterity. And Marky Mark is really maturing as an actor and putting himself up there with the best, after Ted the guy can do it all now.

Last month, Mark Wahlberg officially landed a role in Transformers 4. We caught up with the star at a press junket for his upcoming Broken City and talked a bit about his hopes for the franchise reboot.

"I'm really excited about 'Transformers,'" Wahlberg says. "Michael Bay and I just did 'Pain & Gain' and we had such a good time making it. He came to me and said, 'I'm kind of doing a whole different reboot on 'Transformers.' Are you interested?' I said, 'Yeah, I'll do it!'. I loved the idea and I think we can make something really cool and kick-ass. This is not something where it's already established and I'm just in there to get a paycheck. I'm thinking this is the most important role of my career and I can do something really special."

Mark wahlberg will make it work.

Looks like there will be 3 more from Bay. Once you get that "big" money paycheck, it's hard to leave that lifestyle LOL.

Michael Bay just announced new casting for Transformers 4 on his website. “I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg,” Bay wrote. “Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie What Richard Did. This kid is the real deal. Transformers 4, is not a reboot,” Bay added, explaining that the rumor has been floating around on the net. “This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago,” Bay writes. “The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.” Wme reps Reynor. »

I've done that. Heck I came to LA with less than that only $15 and no job at 19. My step dad took out his wallet and gave me a big whoop 20 bill. So with $35 I went straight to Food 4 less and got milk, corn flakes, eggs and the cheapest pack of hot dogs that would last for 3 weeks until I landed a job in a big bank no less. Sorry had to go off track and brag about that one of my proudest achievements.

Moving to a town where you have family, and staying with said family until you can get a job and support yourself, is not the same thing as moving to a new place where you know no one and have to rely on yourself for everything (including a place to live.)

Comparing your situation with someone who came to a different country with $30 in his pocket (and no support system in place to make sure he was taken care of until he was on his feet) is a little silly, no?

UPDATE TIME: Looks like M Bay is really committed to take it to the next level:

With his Transformers 4 gearing up to shoot in May, Michael Bay spoke with Forbes about what fans can expect to see on the big screen in the summer of 2014.

"We’re going to start off smaller," says Bay. "There’s a brand new cast. To freshen the franchise, we’ve redesigned everything from top to bottom. The history of the first three movies is still there. We start four years later and there’s a reason why we’re meeting a new cast."

"Mark is really excited about it and it’s a great redesign," Bay continues. "I said that 3 was going to be my last one. Paramount was letting me do 'Pain & Gain' and the 'Transformers' ride was opening at Universal and it was bittersweet to think of passing it off. I wanted to set it up on a really sure footing and to bring someone else in on that, it would have been overwhelming."

Although the plan is for Transformers 4 to offer a fresh start in a lot of ways, Bay is quick to point out that the sequel won't be a reboot.

"We keep the 'Transformers' the way they were," he says. "It’s just four years later. There’s a reason the Transformers are redesigned. We’re trying to broaden the franchise and give it more places to go."

Here's another indirect update. I told Y'all that eventually he'll kiss her ass and woe her back to Transformer series. There's no way he won't, she's the freakin hottest babe on the planet. I know it's only TMNT for now, but it's like foreplay Bay is doing that will lead up to a home run he'll get her opposite Walberg. Just watch...

You know, most of us thought we'd seen our last Bay & Fox collab after the mercurial director booted the recalcitrant actress from TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON. Well, détente's a mother******, jack.

Via his official website, Michael Bay has announced that he will reunite with Ms. Megan Fox for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES. There's no word yet on who she'll play, though I'm guessing it'll be reporter April O'Neil (if so, they might want to consider a minor name change, and don't you dare pretend you don't know why).

Apparently it's not Michael Bay who fired her from TF3, it was Spielberg who told him to do so, because of her comments about Bay on the set ; and that was a stupid move, both because she of course should have been in the 3rd one *AND* because her comments really were more childish than serious when she compared Bay to Hitler... rolleyes.gifrolleyes.gifrolleyes.gif But politically correct Steven just couldn't take it. I suppose you still don't say "no" to him when he's your executive producer... I guess the whole thing snowballed back then and she was called an antisemite too in some circles... what a joke! Even Michael Bay couldn't care less, he even said more than once that they still talked to each other. I'm sure they're in good terms and like you said, there's probably a good chance that she'll back in TF4. BUT, it's still just a possibility considering Michael Bay clearly stated that TF4 (and 5 and 6) will start fresh character-wise... We'll see. I certainly wouldn't mind to see her back. Besides, she's probably open to the idea of a little boost too in her career right now...

I would take her back if she was portrayed like in TF, NOT like in TF2 - any Victoria Secret model can do that.
