In case some people didn't know yet, firmware update 2.06 is out.
No specific details though on what the 2.06 firmware is about.but It does fixes the low frames drop on titles..other than that sony dint announce exactly what the update would do for the vita. still waiting for the flash player for the console.
Don't hold your breath while you wait. Adobe killed Flash on mobile devices over a year ago.
At least the YouTube app works pretty well now if it's YouTube you're after. Still, Sony can always try to have full HTML5 video playback support so that you'd be able to watch web video without needing any apps. They'll obviously work only on sites that are HTML5 based for video rather than Flash.

I wish the vita had a AIM (AOL instant messenger ) app.

Does the Vita have any apps related to instant messaging ?
The closest you'll get is probably the FaceBook app. Unfortunately you can't use Skype for messaging since the PS Vita version is lacking.

Well AT&T did hint back then that the PS Vita will get 4G. I guess they might have meant a new model. Still, Sony should have realized that 3G + AT&T exclusivity wasn't the best idea. Their should have been a 4G model and allowed people to choose more carriers. Perhaps AT&T might have made a deal with Sony to be the exclusive carrier sort of like how it was when the iPhone first came out.

Several people( on other game forums) have reported getting their orders cancelled, to top it off they've already been charged.

yeah, I got the same cancelled order email. It really sucks, because for a couple of days, I just took it for granted that I was getting my 32 gig card shipped to me soon.

The thing that really sucks about it, was that there was hardly even any apology involved in the email. Like it was no big deal that they had to cancel it, and that it happens all the time. Really pissed me off, but oh well, when things are too good to be true, they usually are.

P4G on sale at Amazon for $30.

2 days, ago Sony has put up Call of Duty trailers in 3 different languages on the PS Vita channel.

Italy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MqdaB9PfuFU

Russia
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jd7CFkrl538

Germany
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTDv2vUMwAU

Main Channel
http://www.youtube.com/user/psvita/videos?view=0

I guess Sony wants to see how Call of Duty does in those countries.

At least it looks like they might advertise other games since their is an Italian trailer for Smart As.

In other words, it looks like their trying to kick-start the PS Vita marketing in other countries now besides Japan.

Anyway, I'm glad they'll be a demo of Dead or Alive this Tuesday.

Got P4G finally. Happy...
I was looking into P4G, but the thing is 3.1 Gigs.

How much space does it take if you buy the game on memory chip ?
I assume there's a couple patches so it will put the whole shebang on ur memory card anyway....

?
A patch doesn't put the whole game on your memory card.

WRC 3 is coming out digitally for the Vita next week! I can't believe it. It's not even that great of a game, but I love rally so much I don't care. That and Disgaea 3 will be perfect for the flight to China.

Just a heads up. Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Madden 13 and Fifa 13 are on sale for $19.99 each, from Origin right now. I was hoping to see the original Fifa Soccer for Vita for like $9.99 or something, but no dice...

Sony says over 100 games are coming to the Vita in 2013:

Quote:
In a conversation with IGN, PlayStation’s Director of Product Planning and Platform Software Innovation Don Mesa revealed that more than 100 titles will come to PlayStation Vita in 2013 alone. Mesa also had a lot of other interesting things to say about Vita, including usage statistics for Sony’s fledgling handheld device.

“I know there’s been a lot of noise about Vita recently,” Mesa admitted. “There were some negative impressions and so forth. One thing we haven’t had the opportunity to do is talk about how our Vita owners are feeling about the platform. It’s a good gut check for all of us, to know what’s happening now.”

As such, Mesa jumped into the numbers. For starters, a third of all Vita games sold are sold digitally through the PlayStation Network, an impressive number. “Our users are embracing the PlayStation Store on the device and finding it very easy to download and get their games on their device and start playing.”

In a survey Sony conducted with Vita gamers, they learned that they enjoy an 86 percent “satisfaction rate” from the handheld’s users. Sony also found that 90 percent of Vita owners play Vita “on a regular basis,” marked as once a week or more. But the craziest stat? The average Vita owner uses the handheld 18.7 hours every week.

And what about those 100+ games coming to Vita this year? Mesa placed a heavy emphasis on upcoming indie games arriving on Vita – Hotline Miami, Thomas Was Alone, Lone Survivor, Frozen Synapse and others – but he also promised that bigger titles are coming too.

When prodded about Sony’s first-party support moving forward (only two Sony-owned studios are currently known to be making a game for Vita), Mesa promised that Sony’s “got some [games] in the works that I can’t talk about right now. There are games that [Sony] Worldwide Studios guys are building that are… going to be very interesting and innovative, but to give it away too early… we’re always worried about copycats,” Mesa concluded, humorously.
Yeah, for me it's definitely not about the lack of games anymore -- my main problem is the lack of storage space. I've deleted everything that I consider to be non-essential (ie. the games I have on my Vita, I want them always to be on my Vita). Yet, I have less than 40 MB on a 32GB card. I'm still buying some discounted PS+ titles, but I haven't actually downloaded and played them. If removing the memory card didn't jumble up all the icons, a second card would be an option. Sony needs to fix this asap if they're not going to release larger memory cards.

Exactly. Instant Game Collection is pretty much worthless on the Vita. After a couple games, you are maxed out.

You can always just download them again, you don't need to keep every single game on the card.

I personally see ports such as these as a good move and I hope to see more. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing ports of some older PS3 games on the PS Vita such as Heavenly Sword and Enslaved. Heavenly Sword for example had good praise but was criticized for being a bit too short. On the PS Vita, the length wouldn't be considered as bad. For people who haven't played it yet, it wont matter but for sure it would be good to add a little extra content just to entice some of the people that played the PS3 version.

I also think it's about time Sony releases 8gb cards for retail games. Since a lot of developers are making games that look console quality, I believe 4 gig cards might have caused some developers to make sacrifices to keep the size of the game down such as spending more time to develop the game or being forced to take some stuff out.

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/03/25/limbo-coming-to-playstation-vita?utm_campaign=ign+main+twitter&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=social

Limbo is coming to Vita and I've read that Fez's creator is working on bringing that game onboard as well. Hopefully, Vita becomes the indie platform of choice. I know they are old games, but I would love to have other classics like Braid, Castle Crashers, Fat Princess, Super Meat Boy and maybe even Journey to play on the go. There isn't much replay value in a game like Limbo (or Journey, for that matter), but I will probably double dip anyways just to see it on on that oled screen.

Though I don't understand the appeal myself, a full fledged Minecraft would probably do extremely well (maybe even a system seller?). Hopefully when MS's console exclusivity runs out, Mojang will consider bringing it to Vita (I think a PS3 version is a given). The 2D, but similar, Terraria is coming to the PS3/360 next week, maybe a Vita version isn't far behind?

Also, I read last week that The Walking Dead is coming to Vita as well. I played the demo when the game first came out, but I didn't really like it. Since then, I've heard/read all the rave reviews and want to give it another shot (really, a video game that makes you cry?) It seems like a game well suited for Vita.
