Anyone else play this game in 3D?
I bought it a while ago for my kids (ages 6 & 9). Up until recently they had only played the game in 2D (I had shown them some other things in 3D before but they never really showed much interest).
Then the other day I figured I'd give it a shot in 3D to see what it was like. I was definitely impressed with the 3D effect. Nothing really flying out at you, but really good depth and the on-screen menus look really cool. There is also very little crosstalk on my Sony HX-800 and the picture is very bright and the resolution looks great.
After a while the kids came downstairs and wanted to play with me. Since I already had it in 3D mode I just gave them some 3D glasses and we played for another 40-45 min.
The next day the kids woke up early and played again before breakfast for 5-10min and then again after right after dinner. When I turned it on to 2D for them they had no interest. They love the 3D and only want to play in 3D now.
It will be interesting to see if this is isolated to the Cars 2 game or if they will want to play other games in 3D as well. I've always thought that gaming would be a big driver for 3D, this seems to be proving my thesis.
