KDL-60EX720 Issue

I posted this in the "official EX720" thread, but it's gotten buried amongst posts of 3D and other gibberish. At any rate, here's my issue...any help/guidance would be appreciated, though I think the final solution is a repair. I just want to know what NEEDS to be repaired.

I turned on my KDL-60EX720 last night only to find a very thin green line that goes from top to bottom of the screen about 1" from the right edge; and it happens with ALL input sources and even if I just turn the TV on by itself with no input source feed.

I performed my own troubleshooting of unplugging/plugging the set back in, switching sources, unplugging all sources, etc. I sent an e-mail to Sony Support and their "tier 1 support" canned response was pretty much a repeat of all the troubleshooting I had already performed on my own. I tried to reset the TV back to factory defaults per their instructions, but it didn't appear to work.

At any rate, I don't think ANY tier 1 support is going to be the answer to this. Does anyone have an idea about what might be going on?

As a side note, this TV was a replacement for the Sony KDS-60A2000 that suffered the "green screen of death". I got the EX720 (according to my AMEX charge) on 04/20/2011, so at least it's still in warranty.

I would definitely give Sony a call. An authorized technician might come to your home and take a look. My best bet is that your whole set will have to get replaced from the sound of your description.

call Sony they are pretty good about helping you. They will give you two options usually replace the panel or refurb tv.
