"Once Upon a Time" on ABC HD - Page 36

Season 1 had a story. There has a beginning, a middle and an end.

Now it's just meandering around, introducing new subplots and new characters with little purpose or direction. I agree that they are going the way of Heroes. If they don't go back to real storytelling, the series is doomed (and no one will care anymore).

This should be renamed "Lost Upon a Time", rolleyes.gif
post #1053 of 1128
We had "Hurley" and of course "Claire" from Lost.

Refres my memory but what happened with Sidney Glass?

He went on to become a crystal meth kingpin.

He took the fall for Regina on a murder rap. He's in prison but since it was before the curse was lifed, I wonder if he is dead?

Ugh, soo dissapointed in this episode. Really, Snow is going to save 1 person but risk the lives of hundreds? Lame, no matter how "good" she is, that just doesn't add up.

Considering his present gig as a regular on 'Revolution' and how he must consider both of those post-BB roles to be slumming after playing the iconic Gus Fring, he might as well be. wink.gif

In what prison he's in? they only have the cells on the sheriff's place, well Hook was there and I didn't see Glass in there, yeah, I know they can't afford Esposito right now, but I'll love to have him back..

Then hope for 'Revolution' to be cancelled.

Wow, for a min there I thought I was reading the "Revenge" thread where the same exact thing has happened. A totally useless 2nd season mad.gif

Actually, I think 'Revolution' is doing pretty well. It's not the one I would have preferred to be renewed -- that would be 'Last Resort' -- but "America has spoken" (or at least the Neilsen families of America) and that's the one they picked.

This past Sunday's episode went a long way towards restoring my faith in Season 2. Great backstory for Cora and Rose McGowan was great as a young Cora as well! I really did not see the romance angle coming between her and Rumple. I actually thought that Rumple might turn out to be Regina's real father, but they quickly cleared that up by the end of the episode. So if the prince was Regina's father, who was the other man they showed in the earlier flashbacks, the one Regina would eventually sacrifice to enact the curse? Also how did Cora fall out of the royal line?

Really liked the ending and was surprised and impressed by Snow's duplicity to trick Regina. It will be interesting to see the fallout next week smile.gif

So she should be renamed "Slow White"?

Given her fantastical cartoonish look since all the cosmetic surgery, a fantasy series like this one is about all McGowan is suited for anymore. Otherwise her looks would be too distracting to me. Somehow, it works in a series like this. At least, a little better than seeing her in a more realistic show.

LOL.

From the very start of this show, I thought they missed out on an opportunity by not naming her "Neve" in Storybrook since according to Neve Cambell, Neve means "snow". After all, they used the name "Ruby" for "Red Riding Hood", so Neve would have been a good fit for Snow.

But perhaps there's a good foreign word for "slow" the could be used for her name.....
How about "Adagio"?

Looking a wikipedia, I see that there's also the term "Adagietto" which means "rather slow" (but not as slow as adagio). Hey, I've never seen it on a musical score before, but it sounds more feminine than Adagio or Lento which is what I've mostly seen on slow pieces. wink.gif

Speaking of Heroes, am I the only one who thinks they write Regina like Sylar after the first season on Heroes? He's pure evil! No, we's only semi-evil! No he's turning good this week! Sorry, back to evil!

Exactly. At least there are only four episodes left this season.

I am glad Rumple confirmed what I tried telling some of you, he DOES have the ability to see teh future. So some of you that thought he rejected the seer's ability were wrong, he kept that ability.

Tron reference: Encom billboard. (And the name Flynn.)

I meant to post something about that. I swear I thought he rejected that power. He is truly bad at using it if he kept it, though... because he even knows its limitations of being only partially useful, and yet he continues to act surprised when the things that happen aren't according to what he thought was supposed to happen.

We did get an explanation for how that dude in the car wreck knew to come there, though... Seemed a little odd that they did not build his backstory sooner, but we got a flashback that explained it. Now we're left to wonder whatever happened to his dad.

Yeah, he kind of explained that. He said he had a vision of the future but it didn't show him everything or something like that. So he sounds like while it has seemed to help a LOT (his intense plan and doing thins like leaving ink in his cell, etc.) it still has its limitations.

I think the seeing the future came from that hand-eyed girl, during that time the girl gave Rumpel some sights, remember that she expired when she was adult grown, so she could have been with Rumpel all those years predicting the future,

That's why he cannot see the future right now, I think..

So Snow White will become Snow Black?

Oh dear God here we go again. Sorry but Rumple CAN see the future. He stated this two episodes ago and came out and said it directly that he HAS the ability to see the future. It is just not that clear at times on what it means.

The hand-eye girl gave it to him, he was shocked, he pulled away and then complained that all the images were jumbled, to confusing, she said he would learn in time and then she died.

They made a point of telling us in the episode before this one. Rumple told her directly, I have the ability to see the future. Subjec:Dt closed.

On a related note... I wonder if we will see Rose Red at some point.

I think that's she's in a different "Snow White" fairytale than the one Disney's looted though I wouldn't put anything past Disney the way things are going.
Well, let's see. Charles Perrault started it off, the Brothers Grimm continued, including rewrites of Perrault stories. While Snow-White and Rose-Red is not the same story as Snow White, it wouldn't be entirely out of place. For clarity, you'd have to bring in Rose-Red separately and make her the only one in the story.

By my count, besides the Perrault/Grimm source material, we have:

J.M. Barrie
Lewis Carroll
Mary Shelley
The Robin Hood stories (based on the previews)
A couple other Disney original properties

Anyway, I figure we know we're in trouble if they start bringing in authors like:
A.A. Milne
Joel Chandler Harris
Victor Hugo
Hans Christian Andersen (thematically it will fit but I would not be happy with a Little Mermaid character)
T. H. White
Kenneth Grahme
Rudyard Kipling
Dodie Smith
Lloyd Alexander
Margery Sharp
Charles Dickens
Edgar Rice Burroughs (though I could probably get behind Dejah Thoris showing up)

I might have missed some, but I think that covers most everything. After that, I suppose they could start mining Pixar. And if that isn't enough we can start having The Muppets Take Storybrook followed by the appearance of Jar-Jar.

Can't we argue about something more interesting? Like where Ruby is shopping in Storybrooke to get her "small town" wardrobe? tongue.gif
