In fairytale land, Snow looked hotter to me. In our world, part of the curse should be that Snow doesn't look as hot IMO.

The evil queen is pretty darn hot. Regardless of what world she's in.

That guy from Heroes, David Anders as the doctor, is always up to something nefarious. I know he's been in other shows (24), but I immediately think of him in Heroes battling Hiro for some reason.

I caught that too... but it could still be a red herring, because the boy knows everything and is trying to wake everybody up... so he could be the "one" referred to in the opening credits.

The reason I keep backpedaling on the Queen knowing... is because IF she truly did remember, she would be even more reactive to things out of her control. Why not, for example, just outright have Emma killed and bury the body? That would take care of things quickly.

The Evil Queen certainly would have tried (she tried to have Snow White killed and killed her own father after all)... so I can't believe the Mayor knows who she really is but restrains herself to that degree.

I noted earlier... this makes perfect sense, given who invoked the curse.

While I will agree to disagree on short hair vs attractiveness that some people hold... I'm sure the Queen would intend the curse to make her more attractive than Snow White.

I will always remember him as the incredibly evil Julian Sark from Alias.

He has more than a passing resemblance to Bigby, the sheriff of Fabletown. However, the producers seem to be trying to distance themselves from Fables, so I don't know if they'll go that route.

Snow White doesn't look very hot in Fairytale land either. Her hair is just a mess.

You gotta admit the evil queen in her power suit is pretty damn enticing...

Snow White has the same Hairdresser as Anna the 'V' Queen.

Thanks for the look back. I knew I remembered him as evil, just couldn't remember where. Probably my CRS syndrome kicking in.

I thought this week's episode was the best yet. Prince Charming coming out of his coma in Storybrooke and his "wife" showing up are interesting twists. Also, the continuing adventures of Snow White and Prince Charming in fairytale land are fun. Once Upon a Time is developing into a highly entertaining show.

Speaking of which she Morena Baccarin is in Homeland with the same short hair

Morena did not keep the super short hair for Homeland.

Yeah, not for the first episodes... but now it's boy short again in the last couple of episodes.
Doesn't really matter anyway- she's just gorgeous regardless of hairstyle.

OT- if anyone here isn't watching "Homeland" it's highly recommended- probably the best written show on TV currently.

If I subscribed to Showtime, I probably would be watching it.

Must be intentional for characters that they don't want to be looked at as sexy as they can be. They want Snow White to stand out in the flashbacks as a beautiful princess more than the current timeline.

Anna with long hair would result in Earth volunteering to submit to their own destruction in the first episode.

Anna in any format is fine with me .. I always thought they tried to give her more of a matronly bend on V .. and it seemed to me she was a bit "hippy" as well .. as in butt size .. but hey, she still looked great ..

And BTW, what's with the short haired women haters .. ??

"Firefly", in her younger days, our tongues would hit the floor ..

That's because she had a woman's hairstyle in Firefly. Short hair doesn't make her ugly, but it's the difference between being attractive, and drop-dead gorgeous. For other women it can make the difference between attractive and unattractive. Snow White almost (but not quite) falls into that category.

I don't know, I still find Snow White very attractive in Storybrooke world.
The short hair is starting to grow on me........wait, that sounds odd.

That's perfectly natural.

Well this show has grown on me. With some of my other favorite shows not on anymore, this one has become the one I looked forward to the most. The other shows I watch (house, Miami, housewives, etc. ) are just too predictible. Hawaii Five-O and this show are my favorites.

Still very much on board after tonight, though the show has fallen into that situation where one person (Robert Carlyle) is out-acting everyone else by a fair margin. I thought the girl playing Cinderella was decent, I liked the delivery of a couple of her lines.

Excellent episode last night. Mr Gold (Robert Carlye) continues to please. Red riding hood grown up, Yumm. Do hope to see more.

Loved the Cinderella plot line, how they did it was wonderful. One fairy God mother down and she still made a deal with him. Now did anyone feel in his own way he was trying to save Cindy from the evils of magic?

Another quality episode. I did not see the exploding fairy Godmother coming. Ruby (Red) is a nice addition.

I think Rumple was more likely trying to bait Cindy with the "you're not ready for magic" speech.

Not so little Red Riding Hood is HOT HOT HOT! No wonder the not so big, Big Bad Wolf wanted to eat her. I wonder how he ended up as a keychain/mirior decrative.
I felt that Mr Gold was just temping Cindy to take his deal. We may find out otherwise someday, but not soon. IMO.
I am really enjoying this show so far. Cool writing, family orientated, and lots of "hotties". Seems like a receipt for ratings to me.

As usual Brother gwsat, we're in agreement. I'm totally hooked on this show and it gets stronger every week. Cinderella this week, maybe Rapunzel next week? It's starting to look like "Into the Woods" (or maybe Rocky and Bullwinkle's Fractured Fairy Tales)

I fully agree with all the positive comments here. This is one of my top few series of the season, despite my reservations about it when I saw the promos for it prior to the premiere.

This is one show where I'm glad to be dead wrong.

I went from, "what idiot greenlit this" to "I'm so very glad to have another show I look forward to each week".

I really like how they twist some of the fairy tales a little, like with the fairy god mother thing. It gives some surprises to stories that would otherwise be "been there, done that".

"Wait, she has a stepmother and two sisters and she's a cleaning woman...?"
"Not now, Henry..."

Robert Carlyle's Mr. Gold is certainly making you forget his character in Stargate Universe!

Absolutely! Or even his character in The Full Monty.
I actually laughed when they said that Cinderella's name in the "real" universe was Ashley. A really good pun there. The rest of the show was really entertaining.

I almost was believing that Rumple did the whole evil curse thing just to get the kid. No one backs out on a contract with me. It would be a huge effort for a small payback, but maybe he is compulsive.

I really love this show but I was a little bit disappointed that the dialog took a step down from last week's. I was very impressed with the smart exchanges between Prince Charming and Snow White in the forest scenes last week. They were well-written and expertly performed. I even went back to digest them again.

While it was a very good episode last night with Cindy, et al, there just wasn't the same cleverness in the dialog as the week before. Perhaps the subject matter (giving up a child) didn't lend itself to more liberal license for the writers.

I'll forgo snappy dialog if the story itself is compelling enough. Its only a problem for me if they both fail.

The twist with Rumpelstiltskin becoming the "Fairy Godmother" and the connection to how he ended up in jail in a cave (as well as Snow White) was a nice touch.

Emma owing him something provides a nice future conflict. I wonder what the evil queen will think of her becoming a deputy.

I like that Gold is just as devious as his alter ego in fairytale land.
