"Once Upon a Time" on ABC HD - Page 9

This episode was better than the last one, but still not great. I thought the green screen looked pretty bad in a few spots also.

This show need a good(or bad) "WTF?" moment because I'm starting to lose interest.

Saw it immediately, and thought it was a nice touch that it was done during an ep that had Charles Whidmore on the show

Made me miss Lost miserably. This show is good, but it's more like Lost for children than anything approaching the quality of Lost.

TV Notes
ABC Offers Full Seasons of 'Revenge,' 'Once Upon a Time' Online
By Lesley Goldberg, The Hollywood Reporter's 'Live Feed' Blog - December 7th, 2011

It's understandable. With all the new offerings in the fall season, sometimes you discover you love a show a bit late. If ABC's sudsy drama, Revenge, or its addictive fairy tale meets modern times series, Once Upon a Time, fall into that category for you, then get excited.

An ABC spokesperson confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that all aired episodes of the two freshman series will be livestreamed on ABC.com, as first reported by EW. Previously, only five episodes of the series were available at a time.

Revenge is available Wednesday through Tuesday, Jan. 3. And Once Upon a Time's previous episodes will be live on the site through Saturday, Jan. 7.

That means you'll be able to go back and watch Emily's (Emily VanCamp) rapid-fire takedowns in the early portion of Revenge's season. And you'll be able to go back and see what clues can be picked up in your quest to decipher Emma Swan's (Jennifer Morrison) alternate fairy tale identity on Once Upon a Time - if indeed she has one

Or, maybe you just want to do a marathon of the series on your holiday vacation, because you love them that much.

The next new episode of Revenge airs Wednesday, Jan. 4. Meanwhile, Once Upon A Time airs its next new episode Sunday at 8 p.m. and then returns Sunday, Jan. 8 after that.

I completely spaced that one out. Nice catch. After the 6th season of Lost I built a wall in my mind and suppressed any memory of it.

Don't miss this Sunday's episode. That's all I'll say about it.

Simple:

Sticking his neck into the constricted space made him unable to take in the vast amount of air needed to produce fire. Kind of like when a dog is choking himself, tugging at the leash.

That, and he's a fictional, mythical beast. Therefore, he was never alive to begin with and it also mattered none what metal the sword was made of.

On a related note, I predict at the end of the series finale, it'll be revealed this entire story was a dream of Hurley or some sideways flash of the island.

That actually wouldn't make the end of Lost any less ridiculous and improbable.

1) There wasn't any blood on the sword.
2) The sword was actually silver colored. The gold was added in post They should have added some blood when they were adding the gold color.

It's obviously a magical self-cleaning sword.

And extremely fast as well

Dragons must be incredibly easy to cut since gold won't take and hold an edge at all (or else Midas is putting out a really low quality gold alloy).

Probably hardened by nuclear radiation.

It should be pointed out that broadswords aren't actually sharp. They are heavy tools meant to be used for hacking things apart. They do more damage that way. Technically, it would take several swings to decapitate a human, much less something as big as a dragon.

A better tool would be a nice big battle axe, which would have a large, fine, thin blade and cleave through bone and flesh easily.

As far as the gold, maybe we can assume he only changed the outside of the metal to gold, which would maintain the strength of the steel, but make it less likely to rust. It would also add extra weight that might cause more damage when swung.

Can't wait. Saw the promo with the sheriff's memory returning after the "Big Kiss"!

Excellent episode tonight. I really enjoyed the past couple of episodes. I think that has to do with Henry barely being in the episodes.

Does anybody know when the next new episode is?

Great episode. Kept my interest throughout. Very well done. Love the weaving of the story lines. This is a 9/10 tonight.
Definitely moved the story forward, but also upped the ante. Too bad, I was getting to like the sheriff.
I agree, this was a great episode. I thought the fight between Regina and Emma had a bit of a Joan Collins-Linda Evans "Dynasty" feel about it.

The next new episode airs on January 8.

You and me both. But I knew he was dead as soon as he started to have flashes. Now what did SW blab about the Queen? Hmmmm

I liked this one much more than the last two episodes. My wife was not happy that they killed the best looking guy on the show though.

Three things that peaked my interest again:
That snow white couldn't remember how or when she met the sheriff.
Can we assume nobody will be able to remember how they met anyone?

Looks like there's some cool stuff under the town.
That crappy stuck-in-a-mine episode hinted at it, but now it's a sure thing.

The queen can still use magic. Excellent.

It sure was. The intertwining of the the Storybrooke\\Fairy Tale Land plot threads has been very well done and last night may have been the best example of that. I'm sure that I'm not alone in this, but it would be a crime if Lana Parilla wasn't nominated for a Emmy this year. Her portrayal of the Evil Queen\\Mayor has been teriffic. As loathsome and evil as she is in both personnas, her showing insecurities as she senses her curse potentially starting to crack and crumble as Emma stays have been dead on. You almost smell the first wisps of desperation as she tries (with increasing viciousness last night) to maintain the curse and the illusion of Storybrooke. Can't wait for the next episode. It looks like Mr.Gold/Rumplestilskin is about to more actively engage and won't that be fun to watch?

Remember how in "Lost" the characters rarely questioned why others did stuff?

Really obvious questions were never asked.

So now we have the sheriff encountering Mr Gold "doing a spot of gardening" deep in the woods, and the sheriff - the *Sheriff* (you know, the guy who *investigates* things!) - never asks the obvious question: "What exactly does 'doing a spot of gardening' deep in the forest entail?".

I fear we'll have to endure another round of characters being stupid again.

Sigh.

In fairness, the Sheriff was "feverish" and driven by 'odd visions' at that point. Not exactly on his 'A-game.' Now, if Emma was there and suffered the same lapse ...

I thought exactly the same thing .. Gold holding a large shovel, middle of the woods, dressed in a suit and large apron, behind a patch of greenery .. what's he smoking . ?? errr .. digging .. ??

I agree. Short of killing anyone, the Sheriff wouldn't have really cared what Mr. Gold was doing out there since he was consumed with his visions and chasing the wolf.

Loved the episode - HATE that the killed the sheriff just when he was getting close to Emma.

Amazing how The Huntsman knew how to read a letter written by Snow to the Queen considering he was raised by wolves.(Perhaps they were super-intelligent mutant wolves?)

Did they ever name his fairy-tale character or was it jut The Huntsman? I wish my fair tale knowledge was better.

I was raised by accountants, but I suck at math. I work in TV instead.

Are you saying a grown man wouldn't find learning to read useful?

I would actually suspect quite a few people would be likely to learn to read later in life as they found the need since schoold were all but non-existent and the likelihood of learning from their (human) parents would be slim since they likely didn't read themselves.

Honestly, unlike the blokes he took on in the tavern, I'd bet he would be more likely to have the ability to read. Being removed from society often creates curiosity about it.

I believe the character in Snow White is simply called "the Huntsman".

It's straight from Snow White (at least the Disney version, I've never read the original):

BTW, there's a film coming out called Snow White and The Huntsman with Charlise Theron as the Queen and Kristen Stewart as Snow White. Anyone want to speculate about what Snow White does to change the Huntsman mind in that version?
