The evil queen is pretty hot also. Emma Swan....meh.

I didn't know he [Giancarlo Esposito] was going to be in this show so I was surprised when I saw him. Maybe at the end of the series he can take a box cutter to the queen.

That is fervently to be wished for. If Sidney doesn't carve the Mayor up, I hope somebody else goes all medieval on her a**. One of the big reasons I like Jennifer Morrison as Emma Swan as much as I do her edgy toughness. Emma has had a lot of hard times but none harder that what the Evil Queen, er, Mayor, is putting her through in Storybrooke. Morrison makes that work, I think.

Love the dark deliciousness of this. Could the Queen be any darker than ripping out her father's heart to move her desires forward? I think not!

Only the second episode and they are moving this forward nicely. Jennifer Morrison is great in this role. Just the right blend of toughness/heart.

I have liked Once Upon a Time from the git go but it came up even further in my estimation after I watched the Grimm pilot, which has a similar premise. Although Grimm shows promise, it is burdened by stars whose performances I found lacking. In stark contrast, Once Upon a Time's entire cast has been uniformly good and some of the performances, Jennifer Morrison's in particular, have been outstanding.

Same here (mostly). The missus suggested checking the pilot out OnDemand. Watched it last night & am now intrigued (as well as wanting to look for more of the little LOST easter eggs). Only bummer was that upon finishing up the pilot, I realized the 2nd ep was on @ the time (15 minutes left). So, ep2 will be OnDemand....will wait for ep3 to see it in HD.

I'd forgotten about Grimm .. until mentioned on the thread .. looks like it's available at nbc.com .. will need to check on demand tonight .. funny how two fairy tale based shows pop up this season ..

I thought Grimm was ok. Once Upon A Time, IMO, is a much better and more fun show to invest in. But I will still keep both in my DVR queue.

Grimm is available in HD via Cmcast OnDemand - may check it out there this week. Sadly, OUAT is not in HD via the same method.

Probably available then with Charter OD as well ..

I think the kid is doing a great acting job in this, I hope it's the start of a long career for him.

Also very weird to see Gus is somebody other than... Gus.

Both family and dad friendly, gotta like that

Same here, although Grimm seems exactly opposite OUAT, not family friendly no eye candy

Yep, the biggest complaint I have with Grimm other than it just not being very good yet is that there wasn't anything good to look at. If you're going to copy Supernatural, you need to have a HCOTW (Hot Chick Of The Week).

I kept thinking Morena Baccarin would have been great for the Queen role ..

When Giancarlo Esposito appeared on the mirror .. I had to do a double take .. did not expect it .. then his real life character appeared .. reincarnated from Breaking Bad .. gotta love it ..

The father of the Evil Queen may dispute your statement.

^^^ forgot about that one

I agree with what others have said. Excellent performances. Good character development, at least for the queen last night. Plenty of nice ladies to look at too.
I will keep watching.

I liked her character in Swingtown better.

I think we can all agree that the queen is damaged goods.

Thanks for the heads-up on this series guys...

Watched the first two eps last night and was pretty impressed with it.
Guess watching Terra Nova and Falling Skies has lowered my expectations somewhat- but this show can stand up to anything on current network TV.

And who would of thought there was going to be a series where Jennifer Morrison wasn't the best eye candy on the show?

Agreed. But not the short-haired "V" version.

The queen we have now will do just fine. I think she needs a good ****ing though.

There are actually some females that browse the forum and many of them on the TV and Movie threads .. I guess maintaining a gentlemanly post is out of the question these days ..

Yeah, it's hard not to notice the testosterone levels around some of these threads.

Caught up with the pilot and Ep.2 on abc.com tonight (laptop HDMI'd to my XBR9) and loved it. Acting, writing and production values are head and shoulders above Terra Nova and Grimm. The story line is fresh and drew me in from the start. Actors IMO are well cast. I'm in for the duration unless they do a real 180.

This is my favorite broadcast program for the moment. I hope Fringe regains it lost mojo on Fridays episode.

Because I dont feel Once has earned it's number one spot in my heart yet...

We've got to compensate somehow for watching a Disney soap opera about fairy tales with an all female lead cast.

You'll love her in Homeland ( Shows a lot of her ). Homeland also has Claire Danes, great acting, Damian Lewis, and Mandy Pantinkin.
