Best AVR Mode for 2-Channel Sources?

For me (Onkyo TX-SR608) I prefer the Onkyo listening mode "Unplugged" not sure of the SR-507 has this or not, but it seems to mix the center in smoothly, and only add a small amount to the surrounds. Fot TV I like PLII Movies.

I prefer stereo.

i like to use 5 channel stereo mode.

I strongly don't care for dpl or dts neo.

In my Onkyo tx sr 605 I prefer PLII Movies for stereo tv shows and PLII Music for
My MP3s.

Honestly you can't tell the difference between DPLII and Neo 6 most of the time. A lot content on Netflix doesn't have 5.1 audio so I've tried different modes and they all sound the same. And I have a pretty good receiver and speakers.

If it's a movie...I'll sometimes use Dobly Pro Logic IIx Movie

I don't get why people ask these questions of other people.

Take a bit of time to test and see which one you prefer. That will give you the right answer (and if you say you want other people's opinions becuase you can't hear a difference between the different choices... then it doesn't matter what you pick.)

Anyway, I just leave it on PLIIx for movies. Stereo for music.

99% of the time I just leave it on stereo. Anything else is just a "special effect". On the rare occasion I want that "effect" I use DTS Neo. I found Dolby PLIIx to be pretty disappointing.
