Well I like it!
Not wow, this game is the best and all lol. Just good,..more of the same,..which ain't a bad thing.

Here's my set up:
Scar-L silenced + focus (can win 1v1 battles)
MP9 Silenced
Semtex
Concussion Grenade
Perk 1: sleight of hand Pro
Perk 2: Assassin Pro
Perk 3: Steady Aim Pro
Death Streak: Last Stand

Doing well like this!

I use the same, except on the SCAR I use the 2 attachment perk so I can use silencer and extended mags. Lately I've switched the sleight of hand to blind eye (since sleight of hand is less important with extended mags) and use a stinger as a secondary. Then, if things aren't going my way I sit back and shoot down all the enemy air support. I must have shot down 5 helicopters, 10 UAVs and 3 AC130s last night in an hour of play. Has to annoy someone if they work to get a 10 kill streak to only have it shot down in 5 seconds!

The spawns in this game are crazy. I've mostly been playing demolition and kill confirmed. I swear I'll kill someone and go to collect their dog tags and the game spawns someone in behind me. I'd prefer to run and gun but I feel like the game punishes me if I do, so I've had to slow down considerably to do well.

Favorite setup so far is

Type95 silenced + kick (I'll run silenced + rapid fire once I unlock it)
MP9 Silenced
Semtex
Concussion Grenade
Perk 1: Sleight of hand Pro
Perk 2: Hardline
Perk 3: Marksman
Death Streak: Juiced

Even silenced that Type 95 is a one burst kill up close. Seems like 2-3 bursts at range. Marksman is ridiculous for identifying people at range. I see red names pop up on my screen before I can see them.

Two things really bothered me last night. Sniper quick scoping and lag. The quick scopes were just ridiculous and need to be patched out ASAP. I mean - these shots weren't even close and I was toast. The other is lag. Not the jerky motion kind - the kind where I see enemies passing me and I go to fire at them and wind up dead. Replay shows me just standing there as they sweep the corner and send me back to God.

I didn't realize that COD added this in this time around (decided to try BF3 instead). Seems like neither EA nor Activision mind ripping off ideas from each other, do they?

It's only for the one mode. It's pretty much a straight rip from Crysis 2 other than you still build your killstreak without collecting the tags.

This game is terrible to me. I loved the single player but the multiplayer sucks. It seems like the maps are too small and the weapons are too powerful. Its too fast paced.

I've been running something similar with the type 95.

Been working pretty good. This and the P90 are my favorite smgs

Quick question. Better spas12 add-on - damage or range?? May seem obvious but. I noticed in a sandy ravage video he was using range

Also for the free elite console application, can you choose when you want to start the 2 hours of double xp? I want to wait until I have 2 hours to game

I'm pretty sure is 2 hours of logged time. Not 2 hours from when you bring the app down.

I had 2x xp for 3 days b/c I was only able to game a little at a time.

Its 2 hours of gameplay - not 2 hours of real time.

I also find the lag to be a pain. I was furious the first week or so because I just couldn't for the life of me finish a round with a 1.0 k/d - it was a combination of everything mentioned in this thread that was just going against me.

With that said I have come to take the game for what it is - a quick fix when you need that adreniline rush. I have found myself not playing for more than an hour at a time where black ops I would log 4 hours a night during the week for a few weeks straight.

Yeah, it's crazy frenetic. Too much just getting shot by unseen guys coming up behind or on the side of you, for my taste.

Your right, I also can't recall how many kills I get by shooting someone from behind or not fired upon back. Weird

All these boards remind me of that COD4 board where you're in the run down office building w/ the truck trailers outside.

Just pure mayhem. No controlled bursts or firefights, just pure mayhem.

What's the advantage to using SMGs vs assault rifles? Don't the ARs have more bullets per clip and more powerful? Just curious why people use SMGs since it didn't feel any more flickable than an AR...

atleast with my experience

assault rifles are........
heavier
larger clips
less recoil
good for med range to long range

smg
light
more recoil
good for short range although if you tap the trigger you can keep it still (long range) if you hold it down you go all over the place also tru with AR but not so much

imo i think a silencer adds less recoil to almost all of the guns

i never thought maps would be what killed a cod game for me. but mw3 has proved me wrong. they must have done this intentionally to force more people to buy their overpriced map packs.

I actually find this is the first COD game that I don't "hate" any of the maps. They're all a little crazy, but I don't skip a lobby if they're going to any particular map. Clearly they wanted to make the maps fit with a faster style of gameplay, and whether you like that style or not, I say they've succeeded. I don't know if its lag or me, but it seems I go negative more than I'm use to in past games when I try to run and gun, so lately I've been just hanging on the outsides with a silencer....still get about 15 kills a game, but my deaths are way down. I've also been rolling with a stinger pretty consistently and shooting everything down. If I'm not helping my team with huge kills, at least I'm shooting down all the air support!

Anyone know how you get the double xp for downloading the elite app?

You'll automatically get the double xp. When you look at the barracks, on the right hand side of the screen next to your callsign it'll have a little XP icon and there will be a time countdown at the bottom of that screen as well.

Just popped in here to say... after playing BF3 SP/MP... then playing MW3 SP/MP... I'm selling MW3... BF3 FTW!!

I like the new maps so far but there needs to be some more open maps or at least areas, wasteland on MW2 was great for team deathmatch and other team based games but there is not really anything like that in MW3.
The lag issue appears to be getting better, for me at least, last night happened a few times but no-where near as much as it was.
I also like the new level structure also. Hopefully the new map packs will address my want for the open areas and id be a happy chappy.

I still had the same sort of lag over the weekend, it just skitters along enough to be unplayable...a half mag in somebody and off they run, it seems. I'd quit the game and I was the host, that's how awful it was, I don't expect that when I'm hosting and show a full 4 bar connection.
Also it's turned to a spawn killing, get shot in the back as soon as you move kind of game play, or the maps are too small that you can't stop and take a shot without getting nailed from another direction.
I keep wanting to like it but I don't know how much longer I'll put up with it. What really ticks me off is they (the developers) every year its the same old spawn killing and lag...why can't they get this right? Year after year.

Why would they change it? The sheep keep buying it...

exactly...I skipped World @ War and BlackOp's, sold MW2 after it was overrun with hackers and boosters...I thought I could try again.
