Does anyone know if the "Unlock gear" works if I haven't reached prestige 1 yet? I want to keep steady aim, as it helps my game because of my disability.. And, if anyone enjoys ground war alot like I do add

Yes, the tokens work. Just pick what you want and then when you get to level four and open up custom classes, it is available.

Yes, DBailey is right. It is only applicable after you prestige. If you have more than one token, from previous games etc., you can use them as well to get more than one gear item unlocked.

Sorry about that, I read your post too quickly to notice the "haven't reached prestige 1 yet" part.

this is the 8th call of duty, right? i mean, i'm not imagining that this is their 8th attempt at making this game. yet they're still making the same stupid mistakes. connection? still can't get that right. spawns? really, after 8 tries they're this bad. death streaks? what is up with dead man's hand? they said they got rid of last stand. which they didn't. and on top of that, they added an option to kill everything within a half mile radius by suicide bombing yourself. wtf?

the only explanation i can think of is that these people are mentally retarded.

i missed the slightly larger black ops mp maps...

oh one more thing... SPOILER ALERT!!! Do not read on if you plan on playing SP campaign.....












are we suppose to fail the "Turbulence" mission? Replayed it several times to no avail (objective not complete).... drove me nuts...wasted half hour trying to figure out what I did wrong.

I can't decide if this version of the game is fun or not. I have stretches where I enjoy myself, but I find myself turning the game off in frustration alot. I find myself playing demolition most of the time simply for the predictable spawns. Otherwise the game is likely to spawn someone directly behind me, which is a bunch of nonsense.

Again a patch? I haven't played for few days.
I had to download it 1.05.
I like my COD when I'm feeling like shooting something lol

Anybody knows what that patch fixed?

i was getting stuck last night for a while, but then was able to get on. the lag wass terrible last night. almost unplayable due to rage.

has anyone tried to throw c4 on a recon rc chopper and use it as a flying bomb?

They are using lag compensation that's limiting someone with the best connection. There are a bunch of youtube vids on the subject. Basically, it's trying to punish you for having a good connection.

if you have a very fast internet connection, the game will slow YOU down on purpose so your even with others with slower connection. now just imagine playing with people with crappy slow 3rd world internet. just one of the beauties of COD.

This is simply not true. Client side hit detection means that people with slower connections aren't put at a ridiculous disadvantage. It means that yes, you can get shot around a corner. This is the system working normally.

It has always been this way, since CoD 1. Nothing has changed. Traditionally the host will have some artificial lag applied if they're serving up a truly rotten average connection. The only difference is that now that host isn't always shown to have 4 bars, the scoreboard properly reflecting their status.

I understand why there's so many misconceptions out there because of the damn killcam (that's a whooole other topic), but if you have a fast connection you are not "slowed down". This is nonsense and the propagation of this myth needs to stop.

I have a slow connection since I'm only able to play online through my smartphone. I'm able to play but my biggest problem is connecting to a host and losing connection. I get shot often when I'm 4 steps or so behind a wall and my hit detection could be better and knifing is tough with the lag.

If it makes you feel any better, every kill you get is probably so delayed that it's enraging the entire other team on a constant basis. Man...a smartphone connection. Probably can't get past 2 yellow bars?

He should be find on a smart phone if he has 4G. It's plenty fast enough. I can't imagine always playing on it though.

Yea always on 2 yellow bars sometimes 1 Red. I just built a house recently out in the middle of nowhere and that is the best I can do. I am being told that by March that I should have some type of High Speed Internet.

Have you considered one of those 4G hot spot cards? Or do they not work in your area?

It's not the speed of the connection, it is the high ping time. The latency of a wireless connection is not good enough for a game without dedicated servers. Speaking from experience of living in the country, using wireless WiMax, and wasting money on all the previous MW games. Glad I didn't buy this one.

Dedicated servers has nothing to do with it. Fast paced games like cod are gonna play like garbage no matter what with high latency connections.

I am over complaining about the lag - its here to stay as frustrating as it is....

What I need to speak out about is these quick/no scope snipers. A guy is sprinting at me I start to unload into him and immediately he/she is able to

1. Stop Running
2. Absorb my bullets
3. Get in a athletic stance
4. Mount the rifle on his shoulder
5. Close one eye look through his scope
6. Adjust the scope
7. Aim - adjust for wind and gravity
8. Fire on a moving target that is STILL firing at you

Im not looking for 100% realism but you need to at least not allow snipers to run with their sniper rifles in hand and or take longer to scope...its ridiculous.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about QSing either. Combined with typical lag you get nonsense situations like this.

If shotguns can have a completely unrealistic maximum distance, past which the pellets do nothing, snipers should have a minimum distance where they're useless.
