Those width channels look great!!! That's some awesome progress. The one suggestion I'd make is perhaps to move the width channels forward a bit, with an angle toward the listening position (creation a sort of Semi-circle of sound). I'm still shocked at the TOWER width channels. Great job man!

Thank you my brothers.

I'll try that suggestion. The tower is the way to go on widths, I had my M70's there prior and was really impressed with the sound I got from them, once I made the switch to A9's across the front, the sound became seamless. You'd be surprised at how much content comes through the wides, especially musical scores.

Happy New Year Geoff! You made me order some of those speaker cables from Emotiva, they look too good with your speakers! I ordered two 6m pair for each front speaker so I can bi-amp them. Can't wait to hear how they sound! I also love the tower width setup. That's an impressive looking front end. Hope your 2013 is a great one for you!

Happy new year fellas!!! Hope you guys had a great one, and I'm wishing new beginnings and a tremendous new year to y'all!!

I'm in a different place, right at Christmas, I relocated (temporarily) into a smaller place. Right now, I'm downsized from a monster 7.2 to a modest 5.0, that's right, a .0. I miss my dual Empires, but the XPA-2 gives my A9's plenty of power and a surprising amount of bass, of course not rafter rattling bass like I'm used to but hey, it's only for a season. The monster sub are boxed and safely in my garage until I can get into another house here some time down the road.

Until next time.......................

It's been awhile since I've taken a peek here. Thanks JT, I'm an old ass now, time to enjoy everything I can. Time to buy up as much H.T. stuff as I can, cause you can't take it with you biggrin.gif

As you know, I've run into a little trouble, however, I'd like to brag on my new blu ray player if I may; The Onk 807 has decided to quit putting out sound, I was mortified at first, "Oh No" "TV speakers?" Crap, two days of TV speakers and I'm like great, what next? (for those that don't know, my four year old took out my beautiful Samsung 64" plasma with a Wii remote...UGGG).

So, as I box up the AVR to go in for repairs, it occurs to me that my new Oppo 103 has skills. So, I connect my interconnects from my two amps to the back of the pre-outs on the 103. Went in the set up and adjusted distance, decibel and hertz setting and by golly, my Polks are back in business smile.gif

I get a little speaker hiss while in 5.1 but in stereo it's just good music. Hey, I'm okay with a little hiss, better than a pair of 10 watt TV speakers and besides, it's temporary since Onkyo is willing to do a one time out of warranty repair.

So that's my update gents. Don't you dare catch our next gut wrenching episode when you hear Ge-off say..."What is that, a power button?"

Thank you JT my friend!!smile.gif

I can't wait to get my gear back into a dedicated cave of sorts, that will all take place either in December or January. AND, I'm pretty stoked about the placement of my gear once I'm there. I have acquired a modest server rack, got it pretty cheap (Fo free), complete with top fan, internal rack with adjustable racks x 2 and adjustable pull out shelves x 2. It has a vented rear locking door and a smoked glass locking front door. It's one of the tall ones (74" H) with casters and leveling feet. It's like OD blue and grey, so my plan is to paint it black. Once I have everything set up, I'll fo sho post some new pics............by golly, I'll even have my subs back in action, or did I mention that already?
