World War II in 3D

Thread Starter
While browsing thru Overstock's 3D inventory, I came across one called WWII, but it had no image and no more info after clicking on it. Has anyone heard anything about something along those lines coming out? After doing a search on this thread, there was something about some original WWII footage that was shot in 3d, but I'm thinking this is more of a revision.

I believe its a Sky 3D presentation in Britain. It will be on Sky 3D October 12th, I found it here http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/3d/whats-on/

But I can't find anything else about it.

Yes the original WWII black and white videos were shot in 3D by some special cameras that Hitler used for propaganda.

They show a number of 3D stills from the time, but the actual video footage is only a few minutes long.

Just wait. Someone will comment 'Hey, Adolph can't be all bad, he was into 3D....' And then just wait for the firestorm to begin.

As a moderator, I'm here to tell everyone the first sign of this will be deleted withouit notice.

If it's the footage I'm thinking it is, it's mostly just travel stuff and scenes of people sightseeing, visiting an amusement park, etc. The footage was never really lost, in fact, I have an old VHS tape somewhere with some clips from "You Can Nearly Touch It" that had been converted to anaglyph sometime in the 1980's. Many of these same clips were screened in polarized format at the World 3-D Film Expos in 2003/2006 as well.

Anyone expecting to find anything remotely offensive will be disappointed.

I don't think it's the footage you're thinking of. The 3D film is a brief training demo of loading an AA cannon, and some of the stills include shots of Hitler, which are downright creepy.

Here's a link with better info:

Yeah, the stuff I've seen dates back to about 1937, shot in Hitler's Germany but before the war.
