The long-awaited SEOS18 measurements

More shots from today's measurement session with EricH. Here are polars of the SEOS18, using a DE250 (driven with a series 100uF cap)
Horizontal:

Vertical:

Looks to me like it goes comfortably down to 800Hz. Here's a distortion plot at 2m, 90+dBSPL, no signs of distress down there.

For Penn, here's a shot of it being driven by his TAD 2001 (plotted along with the DE250 curve):

Goes both lower and higher, though EQ would take some more effort.

An overlay of the SEOS18 and the SEOS15 (both driven by DE250):

The 18 goes a little lower than the 15 (but pattern control to lower point is more significant)

I'll be trying to retrofit the SEOS18 into my ExtravaWaves (TD15Ms with homebrew 18" waveguide) sometime this fall.

props again guys, putting together a passive for any of the SEOS(TM) 12 15 or 18 shouldn't be a problem. i have a critical eye and i just don't see where these are failing...

Well, the vertical is a little squirrely on the 18, though nothing I'd get too worked up about. Not as overall well-behaved as the 12 is in the vertical, but it does keep control down a few hundred Hz lower.

Looks great. Bwaslo, I'm curious what axis approximation you are using for the polars? Horn entry? Back of CD?

horn entry (approx), distance is 2m.

Cool. Works for me.

Thanks for the SEOS 15 and SEOS 18 comparison graphs.
I know quite a few of us who want to build BIG have been wanting to see how the 18 would hold up.
