Also just to confirm, you are taking the lux reading while displaying only a 100% full field white pattern, and not the 109% pattern on the disc right?
Were you using the brightness as a way of adjusting r/g/b to 100%? Isn't there separate RGB "gain" controls for this?
When you have a chance, can you put up a 100% full field pattern from the AVS HD 709 disc and remeasure the lux and let us know what the color temp is and the dE?
Also I'd love to hear what your convergence looks like when you put up the single pixel grid on that calibration disc. Do the single pixels inside the grid look like a small grouping of R, G, and B pixels, or one white pixel?
I have a Lumagen XS and I always use the "reference" test pattern which displays a 100IRE window.
Contrast was left at default value at 90. I use the "basic settings" of the AVS HD 709 disk to adjust the brightness and contrast.
Convergence was a way off, not much but it was adjustable by the shifting! I think this is also due I use the vertical lens shift in max position!
I had several JVC, every year a new one! I had only issues so far with JVC:
RS1 - Shading
replace RS1 - Convergence issues
RS2 - More or less no issues
HD750 - red/purple bars -> lens was defect
replace HD750 - Lamp dimming / Lens cleaning issues
RS40 - 50% loss in the first 200 hours
replace lamp 40% loss in the first 300 hours
The VW95 is so sharp, so quite and so bright! No reason to use this projector in low lamp mode but for me it is too bright for my 80inch screen.
I'm curious how the lamp will perform after 200h. Maybe somebody has some experience from HW30 user, how good the lamp is?
For me, it is the perfect projector! No reason to go back to JVC!!!!
