I'm having a problem with my Sony BDP-S570 and 3D Blu-rays

I recently purchased a Panasonic AE7000 projector and am loving it, except for one thing. My Blu-ray player is a Sony BDP-S570 first-run 3D player hooked up to the PJ with an aftermarket 25 foot High-Speed HDMI cable. 2D Blu-rays play fine, but when I try to view 3D Blu-rays, there is some annoying video noise alternating from top to bottom that resembles horizontal banding. Does anyone out there have similar issues with this player or do you think it could be the cable? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Get a better cable or cables if your going though an AVR.

It's not. This cable is running straight from the Sony to the Panny.

Does the problem occure if you play a 2D disk and use the 2D-faux3D feature of the PJ? If it does then the cable is not the problem.
What 3D BR disks has the problem occur on?

Suggestion is to isolate the problem to a particular component. When the problem goes away through substitution, but returns when the original component is reinserted, you found the problem.

Components: cable, player, TV

1) Substitute a different cable, even if temporary such as a shorter cable

2) If 1) doesn't work, try a different player, same or different model, and then if that doesn't work, suspect the the TV, so try a different one.

Often this is not convenient, but then once the problem is found and corrected, it's worth the effort.

Also, when the problem is found, report back here to help others with the solution to the problem.

Oh rats, I failed to mention that this player can download 3D trailers from the web through the 'Sony 3D Experience'. Those lownloads do fine. It just happens on Blu-ray discs. Do y'all know if 3D discs have a higher bandwidth than downloaded 3D material?

Yes, typically downloads I've seen are lower bandwidth and lower resolution than local media source such as bluray disk.

My Sony says that the software update is current, so maybe it IS the cable. It's a brand new one, but like I said, it's an after-market one.
Anyone have a suggestion for a high quality cable? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller? Beuller?

Monoprice cables are high quality and inexpensive.

Could be the cable. A better cable might have thicker wires inside. For example, 22 gauge is thicker than a 24 gauge, and a 24 gauge is thicker than a 26 gauge. Thickness adds more copper, but isn't always better.

If there is any way to try using a shorter cable you already have by moving the player machine closer to the TV, temporarily, I'd do that before investing in a replacement cable, just to be certain the cable is at fault.

Pay no more attention to this post. I am what is called '3D Ignorant'. It wasn't a hardware problem but a picture setting problem. I was trying to run the 3D Blu-rays with 'Normal' picture mode instead of 'Cinema 2' mode. I sacrifice brightness but now am without the horizontal video banding.

Thanks for the input
