KWWL Announces Digital Broadcast Schedule

KWWL, Iowa's News Channel is proud to announce the commencement of a regular DTV schedule.Ê This will begin Wednesday May 1st at 5:00 pm.

KWWL is the first Eastern Iowa Television station to test and broadcast in DTV and High Definition TV.Ê Our regular broadcast schedule in DTV format will be Monday thru Friday 5 pm until 11:35 pm.Ê The weekend schedule will be flexible to accommodate special NBC high definition programming, including the Kentucky Derby this weekend.

We are pleased to continue the KWWL tradition of being an industry leader with our technological advances."Ê Rick Lipps stated in an announcement to KWWL staff.Ê KWWL's Chief Engineer, Jim Ohmstede, stated "the DTV broadcast is the latest in a string of technological firsts for KWWL in Eastern Iowa.Ê KWWL was the first station to broadcast in color, in stereo,Êwe were the first to utilizeÊfiber optics in a broadcast application, and we were also the first station to haveÊaÊfull color news studio."
