Focus Test Pattern

I was just wondering does anyone know where I can find this test pattern. I know a signal generator will produce this, but can I find this on a calibration disc?

Thanks

Yes. Which disc format do you want?

Blu-ray preferably, it just needs to be 1920 x 1080. I'm trying to get my focus dialed in and the grid pattern on my projector is really hard to look at for a long period of time.

Not the exact one but a great site. Also there are very good patterns on the AVS S&M, and DVE discs... have you tried those?

Also Calman has a good pattern generator on their download page.

I use the AVS 709 disc for focus. In the misc patterns under resolution the second pattern (single pixel cross I think) works great for very fine focus.

I haven't seen that old pattern or an 'Indian Head' HD version of it in 1080p. There are similar patterns available from the following:

'Digital Video Essentials: HD Basics' Blu-ray Disc- see: "SMPTE RP-133 Resolution Chart" in the "Advanced Video Patterns" section (also available on 'DVE Professional' WMV HD).

'DisplayMate for Windows' PC Program- see: "Master Test Pattern" in the index.

As mentioned, there are alternate patterns specifically designed for focus and/or resolution tests in other HD test programs. They may be easier to your eyes.

Thanks guys, I will give those a try.

I'm not sure how much resolution you need, but the indian head on myTvTestDisc might work for you. You can download it off their .com web site.
