To 3D or not to 3D?

Im curious to see how many of you who own a 3D capable set actually play games in 3D?

I didnt like playing R3, Batman or MLB12 in 3D - I always felt like I had tunnel vision. Now with Uncharted out - I chose to keep it off from the get go.

Yeah, it depends, but I hardly use it. It's just not used well in most games.

I dig it.

I played Killzone 3, Resistance 3, God of War: Origins, MLB 12: The Show and Batman AC in 3D and I liked, if not loved, all of them that way. The only game I didn't stick with in 3D was The Show as I felt like there was a little added lag that prevented me from catching up with 95 mph + heaters.

That being said, I am playing on a 110 inch projection screen and I think with 3D immersion/size does matter quite a bit. 8-12 feet away from a 50-60 inch 3D image might not do for me what 8-12 feet away from 110 does.

I need to check out one of the 3d pjs. I don't have a real need to upgrade and if they have the same issues that plasmas have I'd rather wait another year or two though.

Personally moving from Plasma to Projection changed my view on not just 3D but displays in general. I probably won't keep a TV in my main viewing room/theater ever again (well, until 100+ inch Panels become affordable )

As far as "issues". I assume you are talking about ghosting or crosstalk (ie: halos or ghosts around the image in 3d.) My DLP projector (an optoma hd33) exhibits little to no ghosting (for me at least) so they're "there" already. I used to be a " I'd rather wait another year or two though." guy till I realized that I was always waiting and no enjoying.

I won't bother with 3D until they get rid of the friggin' glasses. Maybe OLED will be able to do this?

I enjoy movies and games in 3D, but I play on a 82" tv typically.

Not all displays are equivalent when it comes to their 3D capabilities. Some require you to sit in a very narrow spot for optimum viewing, others require you have to very low ambient light. Neither are the eyes of their viewers. Glasses free 3D is here it's just bloody expensive

I havdea 46" TV in my office that I bought mostly for 3D gaming and the occasional movie. I have a 60" LED in my family room that the PS3 has been hooked up to lately.

But the 46" almost seems too small to enjoy 3D - I may look into a pj eventually...

I have a sony vw60 pj I bought at release that still works well. I just wasn't that impressed with 3d on my plasma so I never felt the need for a new pj. I was hoping I could wait it out for led or laser.
