Can anyone share their experience about the Lagoons after a year or more of use? Most people seem to be happy in the short term. Hopefully, the same is true for the long term as well.

I'm the first poster in this thread so as you can see I have had mine for about 14 months. As far as my wife and I are concerned they are in the same condition as when we got them.

We are very pleased!

5 Lagoons vs 4 Escapes?

I'm on the hunt for chairs for our new theater. Somehow I went from looking at microfiber sectionals to leather theater seats. The WAF and I haven't tried many in person yet as they are proving hard to find around here and I need to dedicate some more time to it before I pull the trigger, however the Fusion line is certainly in the running.

After some research, I think we've decided that we want something with around 42" back height (I'm 5'11"), power recline, black leather, and tray tables sound like they would be useful but I don't really know for sure. I have just a hair under 142" in room width between two carpeted riser steps for the front row. Eventually I will need chairs for the front and back row and originally was planning on some cheaper non-recline club chairs in the back row, but now I don't know. At this point in building the theater and finishing the basement at the same time, my wallet feels a lot lighter then I want it to. For those reasons I'm thinking about just getting the front row first and then a backrow (or a new front row) later on.

I'm looking at the Lagoons in a IOIOOOIOI configuration which would maximize my 142" of space. 5 of them according to Roman measure out to be 142.5" but that's measured from the cushion. Can anyone confirm if the cushion sticks out over the seat base, and how much? Pictures of it doesn't really look like it hangs over the base much at all. Anyone think I can squeeze 5 into 142" at the base?

The other Fusion option is 4 escapes in IOIOOIOI config, which would leave me plenty of extra room (or not take advantage of all of it as I see it). 4 Escapes are slightly more but offer some nice features that I don't know if I would really take advantage of.

At this point I'm sort of leaning toward getting 4 or 5 Lagoons, using them for a while and then moving them to the backrow and getting some Escapes for front row or maybe some more Lagoons if they meet all my needs. This kind of allows me to test drive the chairs, see the build quality, etc and then if I dislike the Lagoons I can relegate them to backrow duty.

Any advice from current Fusion owners would be appreciated.

I researched extensively , tested them and recently ordered 5 escapes (in grey leather). I think the escape is the best Chair - I sat in all of them. The motorized head did it for me. If u r doing a love seat, make sure u add the middle arm
post #486 of 591
Good news, Roman had his guys do some measurements and the Lagoons are both wider at the front than the back and wider at the armrest than the base, so that means I have a little wiggle room to fit 5 Lagoons in a IOIOOOIOI setup. Now just to decide if it's better to have the extra seat or not.

Just got 3 Lagoon chairs in a straight config - IOIOIOI. I got it with the removable armrest so can go with the loveseat config if I want (IOIOOI). The Lagoons don't have trays but would love to find one that can put into the cupholder. Has anyone seen anything like that? If not, Roman, any thoughts on creating one as an add-on?

Hello everybody! Long time lurker, first time poster.

I've already been in contact with Roman about a set of Escapes but there may be an issue and i need some help.
I'm 6'3" 290lbs and I need opinions on these seats for big guys! 42 waist, 32 inseam, 18 1/2 shirt kinda big guy.... I'm in Houston, TX and would love to try them out but don't have the time or resources to fly to NJ.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

BTW, these will be going in my media/living room. I have a Townhouse and the room is a long living/dining/kitchen combo on the 2nd of three floors. I already installed my projector and 120 inch screen, and my 7.1 system (SHU speakers are absolutely epic for my needs!). It's still a work in progress.

Thanx in advance for the help....

After speaking with Roman multiple times over the last month I ordered 8 Fusion Tributes that should be arriving in the next hour or two.
I'm a little nervous ordering sight unseen as I'm sure many of you have been.
Roman was outstanding to work with as been said a million times. Will update with pics and a short review after we watch our first movie tonight in our new theater.

Here's a couple before pics, the theater is not complete yet as it needs a popcorn bar at the back of the room and a few captains chairs at the counter top.

Speakers and screen are in place as of now but no pics yet. Will update this soon. Room is 20.5' wide and 27' long.

Very nice room Cobb! looking forward to seeing it when it's all put together!

Yes, very nice room.
I hope you are happy with projector performance given the very light walls and carpet though.

I am looking into getting 4 of chairs, Lagoon, Tributes, or another vendor. I am curious of everyones thoughts on the following configurations.

|o|o|o|o| - Standard 4 in a row - Uses least amount of space, looks the best?

|o| |o| |o| |o| - 4 standalone chairs pushed together - Flexibility of being able to move chairs in future

|o| |o|o| |o| - 2 in a row with 2 stand alones on each end - best of both worlds or a compromise?

Here is the viewing area (with temp seating) I will be placing the chairs. I comfortably have 160" of width to deal with.

Thoughts? Advice?

We set up the chairs last night. They were heavier than anticipated. For one guy with a bad back anyway. smile.gif
I ordered 8 Tributes (2 rows of four straight) the row on the risers has a love seat config |o|oo|o| in the middle with the optional armrest. I'm very happy I added the armrest.
There is nothing to install. It just drops right in and fits snugly and it stable to the point you wouldn't know it wasn't part of the chairs.
The chairs are the bonded leather type.

Comfort: Our biggest fear was the comfort & support not being adequate. I will say they are outstanding and head and shoulders above what I was expecting.
We sat in every theater chair we could find locally and nothing compares to the Tributes. Not even close. (Some chairs were around $4k for a row of 4)
I have a bad lower back and I complain about almost any seat not being up to par. I'm constantly turning and stretching in restaurants to get comfy.
My wife and I both love these seats, I'm just under 6' and she's 5'4 and nether of us had any complaints.
After sitting through our first movie we felt the same. We weren't sore, cramped, or anything of the sort.

Build Quality: The chairs look and feel solid. All the power recliners worked great.
The backs of the chairs inserted smoothly and locked in snugly with no play involved.
There was a couple threads that needed snipping, no big deal.
We both loved the manual adjustable headrests. They are easy to bring forward and move back. I think I'd prefer them over power headrests.
My 4 yr old loves to press buttons, so one less thing to worry about.

The removable trays that came with the chairs were nice looking but smaller than I expected though of good quality and felt sturdy enough to put snacks on and what not.
The power cords on the chairs were plenty long and tied neatly. The storage space in the arms is plenty deep and spacious for all kinds of remotes, magazines, etc.

The only complaint I have and this might be able to be remedied is the arms pop up too easily when bumped. We have two armrests that really pop up easily with the slightest bump.
The rest of the arms seem fine. I'll have to ask Roman if there is an easy fix.

Overall we are extremely pleased and would recommend the Fusion Tributes. 5 out of 5 stars providing they hold up over the years which I'm confident they will smile.gif
Almost forgot about the looks. They are dead sexy as far as I'm concerned. Classy and Modern looking without being over the top.

Ready for the unboxing.

I didn't realize how close the front row would be to the speakers. Kind of kicking myself not ordering the in wall triads I had picked out, Maybe in the future,
They are about 8' away from the front row although the pics make it look closer than it is,

I was thinking the same thing at first. There are no windows in the movie room. I took these with my phone cam on a low resolution.
The real paint color isn't showing up, it's a medium grey color actually and the light reflection is almost non-existent except for really really bright scenes (all white or snow)
We are using a Panasonic AE8000U and it looks amazing. So glad we went with cinemascope.

You are probably right though, it could be darker and better but after planning every facet of a newly built home man I just want to sit back and enjoy it for a bit before tinkering anymore.
I'll get the tinkering bug back again soon enough I'm sure and will try to make improvements to the theater, I need to relax the mind a bit first.
Especially after reading the posts on the AE8000U thread about non conformity and little green blobs in corners an such, I'm not looking for problems right now because it looks so good as to me as is.
I haven't even calibrated it yet which I know is a sin on AVS smile.gif

It took us awhile to decide this also during the planning phase of our little theater. After getting them set up I'm glad we opted for the standard 4 in a row. |o|o|o|o| for the front row.
It looks neat and clean and the Tributes were more spacious than I thought. I'm about 185lbs and my wife is about 125 so we aren't huge people but the space between us was more than enough.
We could have easily sat our 4yr old in between us and still had plenty of room in the love seat config.
If we went with |o| |o| |o| |o| I think it would be wasted space in my opinion considering how much space is already available with the Tributes.
It is very subjective though. Looking at your room I'd do the |o|o|o|o| , but that's just me. I think either way you will be fine.

No problem. Roman lived up to his reputation. It's the least I could do is share my experience.
I'm sure not everyone will find these as great as I did but we were truly impressed.
Our electrician stopped by a bit ago and saw our theater and I asked him to sit in the chair and relax for a second and he absolutely loved them.

Thanks man. A lot of time was put into this little theater room. It's funny to me how much planning was done and how simple it looks to us now.
I'll have to work on the friend thing, I don't really have any smile.gif
I have a lot of work ahead in teh coming months such as custom air vents, a popcorn bar, a media cabinet, calibration, etc, etc.
I had the entire process with pics in my phone and it was all wiped just a couple days ago when my phone went kaput. Thought it was on SDcard and it was saving to internal memory.
I put so much time into the pics and descriptions during building mad.gif
post #504 of 591
Did you get a chance to talk with Roman about the armrests popping up? I am having the same issue with a couple of mine and haven't had a chance to contact him or try a home fix.
it should be a simple adjustment of how the hydraulic arm is attached to the storage compartment. Just loosen the screws that hole the hydraulic arm, adjust it and screw them back in.

Hi we are thinking about getting the fusion - how do they hold up after use? are you still happy with them
post #508 of 591
I am about to pull th trigger on 15 of either the Escape or Tribute in the bonded. I actually like the Tribute looks a bit better, I think. I love the idea of the power headrest, but not sure I need it. I am also trying to decide between curved and straight rows...it will be three rows of five. I am pretty confident in the chairs just based on reviews etc. I spoke with Roman this morning and my only reservation is the timeframe...2 months to get them. My room won't be done for almost a couple of months, but just concerned in case it were to take much longer for any reason. Anyone hav eexperience with wait times??
In my case, Roman has always come through and delivered when he said he would.

As far as the headrest, I have the Escapes and love the power headrest. I have never tried the Tribute so I do not know how the manual headrest works. I know the Power Headrest is a wow factor for visitors too. smile.gif
