How to turn off Pc connected Xbox 360 Wireless Controller

Hi everyone,
I thought this little app might be useful. If you are using the Xbox 360 wireless controller with the USB receiver you may have noticed the Xbox "Guide" button will turn on the controller, but not off. This little app fixes that. It makes it so that once you hold the "guide" button on the controller a prompt comes up allowing you to turn off the controller.
It flags as a virus on my pc, but it is not, it is made with AutoIt which most anti-virus programs associate with a malicious file. It works fine on my PC and makes controller use more streamline. You can view the author's page here

How about instead of running a program that flags as a virus, just let the controller go to sleep by itself after 10 minutes? Or maybe just pop the battery pack off then on real quicks?

That 10 minutes costs just about nothing in terms of battery power, and certainly not enough to spend any time worrying about it or finding a "solution" for it.

Yeah, just pop the battery on and off. The 360 controller makes it so accessible. I see no reason to worry about 3rd party software for this.

This is exactly what I do. Whenever I'm doing playing with the 360 controller, I just quickly pop the battery cover and then snap it back in. Turns the controller right off.

I've been using a nifty little program called Stuxnet, but I'm not yet sure if it works. :/

The USB receiver on my wireless XBOX controller died so now I have a useless wireless controller. Any ideas there?

Or you could just use a wired controller like me and never have to worry about that. I'm never beyond the reach of the cord anyway so it's never an issue.

The receivers are sold seperately, thankfully.

The ones on ebay are chinese knock-offs and I don't trust them.
$22 for a authentic one is awfully steep.
I actually do already have a wired one that works great, but still the other one is collecting dust.

Retail on them was $20, 3 years ago when they were still being made and sold separately. You're lucky the one on Amazon isn't $80.

The clone ones on eBay work absolutely fine. I've already bought a few of them and they work exactly the same as the genuine article.

I have a chinese clone receiver and once I got it setup (a pain in windows 7 x64) it works fine
