Blech. I'd rather think of her as the funny fat girl from Bridesmaids.

To me she's Sookie from Gilmore Girls, and I've gotta say, I'm really happy for her and her current success.

That's how my wife will always think of her. I prefer the potty-mouthed, pooping in the sink version from Bridesmaids.

I loved how Melissa McCarthy went all out in all of her skits. She was outstanding! I liked all the sketches.

Yes her warning to her kids to turn off the TV NOW because mom was going to do things inappropriate was quite true. The scene with the balloon horse was.........

I REALLY like Melissa McCarthy. My dream is for her and Zach Galifianakis to do a movie together!

I like all her skits. I'm still laughing at the final skit, "my lifelong nickname is skid-marks, yet I've never owned a car!"

i was really surprised about how well she performs physical comedy.

she was brilliant. she carried the whole show.

kind of reminded me of a female version of chris farley or belushi.

i was so impressed i added mike and molly to my season pass.
maybe she really deserved that emmy.

Especially the fat part.

not p.c. but they do share that attribute and use it as a component of their comedy.

She definitely worked the fat angle in many of the skits. Loved the one of her constantly taking a dive down the stairs.
She definitely puts 110% into her skits!

Agreed. This is what SNL should be. A time when actors can "play" with their talents, have fun and just goof off. She really went all in. Love her or hate her, she gave her all.

She is really awesome. It's a shame that people want to focus so much on her weight instead of her talent.

Checking in for tonight's episode.

There sure was enough news to embellish this week. I hope they do something on MJ and the Conrad Murray trial.

Hoping for a good rip of Hank Williams Jr and Fox and Friends.

A skit called "The Best of Both Worlds" was pretty funny.

It took me a minute to realize that the person playing Daniel Radcliffe was the real Hugh Jackman, who was being played by Andy Samberg.
That had to be one of the top ten worst SNL's of all time last night. A complete waste. Not even weekend update was funny. The writing is really terrible. They are in desperate need of some fresh material.

Disagree. The Fox and Friends skit was great, and I enjoyed the Hugh Jackman skit. I thought all the jokes during weekend update were good, minus the appearance of Wiig's new awful character and didn't care for Zoolander. The "couldnt handle a two year commitment" joke about Palin was awesome.

I'm with Vurbano on this one. I thought it was a terrible show. I agree with you that Fox and Friends was funny...but that was it. Weekend update, while it had a couple of good one-liners, was ruined by Wiig's seemingly endless pancake theme and Zoolander bits.

A general rule of Weekend Update should be that Seth Meyers is the funniest part of it...so any other 'guest appearances' should be quick and to the point. Do the joke, and get the heck out of there, and back to Seth.

They should have run this Netflix parody that got cut.

Go figure Kenny G is on a roll.

He was just on a Katy Perrys LFN(TGIF) for 6 weeks at #1 now looks like he is on FTPs next single too.
after 2 great shows this one came up short. but to call it awful, worst ever, snl stinks is way over the top.

people love being negative about this show, but to write new skits and perform live for 3 straight weeks is not an easy thing to do.

so they had a couple of whiffs last night. big deal. still the best live comedy show on tv and its been around for a long time and should remain with us for years to come.

Ben Stiller stunk up the joint and all the sketches were bad,Melissa was very good last week...

Hoping SNL bounces back this weekend...

Really harsh crowd. Really one of 10 worst eps ever over 35+ years. That's a little bit too much hyperbole.

I didn't notice you guys pouncing on the first 2 shows this season, but have a 3rd show in 3 weeks that is weaker than the first 2, well then this show sucks, has always sucked, and will suck forever.

lighten up.
Calling it one of the worst 10 eps is hyperbolic at best. The 10 worst eps had no redeeming qualities. This one had a great guest appearance by Hugh Jackman, some great one liners and Stefon during weekend update, and a superb destruction of Fox and Friends + Hank Williams Jr. Ben, to me, was a terrible host. Simply not funny, and was reading too much. Coming after two great weeks, it was obvious this wasnt great, and most of the time wasn't even good. I love Kristen, but she's run her course. That pancake lady was abysmal. I always love the DJ Supersoaker and Lil Blaster concert videos, and this one was one of their bests.

I have seen nearly every episode over the last 35 years and this was easily one if the worst. No redeeming features. Not only were the jokes unfunny, some of them didn't even make sense. The fault was the writers', not the cast's.
