I think she's going to be a great addition. She's done a few great bits already. Her Penelope Cruz skit absolutely killed.

lol, this skit is great!

That was a pretty good SNL I laughed quite a bit. It was sad at the end to see Kristen have her send off. And according to reports Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis are leaving as well. If it was Jason's last night he got the short end of the stick because I do not remember him showing up all that much at least Andy got that last Digital short.

I've only watched the first half, but was impressed at how much work Mick was doing, and doing it really well. Loved his song with Arcade Fire too. Hopefully the 2nd half is just as good.

My thoughts as well. Either way, the end was a nice tribute to Kristen and she got quite emotional.

about 30 minutes into the finale on hulu...so far the funniest SNL in 15 years.
Finished the 2nd half. Mick was in absolutely everything except the pre-recorded Short and Weekend update. Most hosts couldnt handle all of that, but Mick did AND he sang 3 songs. Great episode. Loved his blues song about the upcoming election.

Mick Jagger did fantastic, and he came off as funny as well. I was pleasantly surprised!

If this was indeed Andy's last episode, then he goes out the same way he came in: With a Lazy Sunday digital short.

Mick really made this show. One of the best episodes in a long long series of horrific shows this season

Jagger is an old-fashioned showman. Put him on stage in front of an audience and he can do anything.

wow! Everybody's on the same page about the season finale.

Great episode.

why do people "check in"? Do we need to care? Or... is this like a "bump"? If so, why don't they bump?!

Usually because I've been drinking and "pre gaming" for the SNL episode. SNL only comes on once a week, I look forward to it. Gotta "check in" with the fellow avsforum people. If avsforum was in real time, chat room style, it would make more sense.

Some of the more higher profile shows have enough AVSer's who post during the showing that it feels like a live chat (LOST was a prime example of this). There could be pages upon pages of posts from the airing.

SNL may not have that many who still watch live, but it's nice to know someone does!

Great show, I rarely watch SNL, but made it a point to watch the Mick. The opening skit with Jon Hamm was hilarious and Mick did pretty good with the songs. He even got poked at with the karaoke skit..Hope next season is a little better than this past one..

I prefer the "checking in" posts that raise the thread to the top over the "why do you post like this?" posts.

hilarious show! everything worked, mick was unbelievably great. funniest ep since will ferrell hosted the closing show like 2 years ago.

well done by everyone. that was the sweetest sendoff i can ever remember any snl cast member receive. kirsten wiig well deserved.

as for jason, he did have a lot of skits last week so i thought that was for him, if indeed, he leaves. and andy got 2 nice long digitals shorts last 2 weeks.

another great season for snl with possibly a lot of holes to fill for next year. taran killam is the only featured cast member who has shown me enough to become a regular.

^^+1, Beck was a nice unexpected addition too! I thought the young Californian looked a little like Steve Martin and I was right, boy he looked young.
This episode was a total turnaround from last week's Will Ferrell disaster episode.

Jagger was great performer all around, nice bit at the end to say goodbye to Kristen and others. That Californians bit didn't really do it for me, although I didn't notice Steve Martin right way. The bit with Al Sharpton was hilarious...going on about a Salmon Canary with fins and wings even though he was supposed to be talking about a salmon cannery.

One of their best.

Word is that, in addition to Wiig, Samberg and Sudeikis will also be leaving. Are they really not going to bring Sudeikis back when he's their stand-in for Biden and Romney? Not saying he does a good job at either--I like Sudeikis generally, but aside from one or two impressions, his impressions are terrible--but in an election year, that seems unusual to me.

I suspect Armisen will depart after the election as well. I'd anticipate lots of turnover coming next season.

It wouldn't be the first time they've changed the actor doing a political impersonation.

I only wish they had had Wiig do the "Just Kidding" lady during the news one last time.
Even though Wiig is leaving, the great thing about the show is that she can pop back in at any time, either as a guest host or cameo.

Good episode. All the songs were very good. Best that Arcade Fire ever sounded, but I'm not a huge fan of their's. Jeff Beck can still shred.

Absolutely. He is just great on camera and is game for anything. Likewise Jon Hamm who has become one of SNL's "go to" guys and always delivers. For me the highlight was Jay Pharoah's brilliant send up of Steven A. Smith. It was just perfect and hilarious and Seth Meyers was the perfect foil. Steven A. said that he was actually watching the show and enjoyed every second of it. I loved the way Jay kept upping the ante on how close he was to each player. Great stuff.

Ahhhh, Okay, thanks. I'll go along with the ""drinking" explanation as I can relate to that after having posted "PUI" (posting under the influence! )

That Jay just doesn't add much to the show for me, not sure why. I don't recall even seeing Jay and Seth in a skit on the finale together. Maybe I just forwarded through the part with Jay subconsciously.

Jay's got pulled. It's on Hulu.com from dress rehearsal. I had to struggle to hear Stephen A. Smith, but at times it sounded OK. But it's typical for him. He can only do impressions, but when he's tasked with merely acting, he's terrible. His Obama impression is great, but it's obvious why they're not using it, because they need someone who can do more than sounds like the president.
