I have seen nearly every episode over the last 35 years and this was easily one if the worst. No redeeming features. Not only were the jokes unfunny, some of them didn't even make sense. The fault was the writers', not the cast's.
Tinyballs was a funny rip on Moneyball. I'm betting most people calling it one of the worst episodes of all time didn't watch more than a few minutes of it.
So it wasn't one of the worst. It still wasn't very good. The season opener says they can still rise to the occasion. I wasn't really crazy about the second show either.
Really harsh crowd. Really one of 10 worst eps ever over 35+ years. That's a little bit too much hyperbole.
I'm not sure why you grouped me in that reply. I didn't say it was one of the 10 worst in 35 years. I said that particular episodes was bad. And I stand by that. It was. I Really enjoyed the season opener, though.
- when they goofed on the rap stuff with the guy & girl....they hit all the phrases/expressions....that is so wack....wut wut.
- the springsteen "storys between songs cds"....thats a good 1.
So Drake is the music guest next week....guess its a lock for that dude to do his Drake impression.

Ben Stiller had several Springsteen sketches on his show that were pretty much like that one. The "Counting with Bruce Springsteen" one always cracks me up.
ok, those of us who are reasonable people agree that this was not one of the 10 worst episodes ever, but we also agree that the season opener was a great show, the second ep this season was a good show, and this one had more misses than hits.
I have no problem with that assessment, but for all the other posters who go to the absolute negative extreme in stating their opinions about the show, why don't you just not watch it if it causes such a tumultuous emotional reaction from you?
well they have no other female leads, just supporting female ensemble.
Actually, Nasim Pedrad is very talented, and Abby Elliot is capable of more than the writers give her. Vanessa Bayer is coming along nicely too. It's the males that pose problems.

i love nasim, abby hasn't shown much range although they haven't given her a lot of chances, vanessa just don't work for me. rarely do i find her funny.

Are you saying the females on SNL are funnier than the males? If so I could not disagree more.
Nassim is an actor (so is Hader, and, I suppose, Sudeikis); Myers' strength is his writing, and Samberg's his Digital Shorts. I don't recall ever seeing her break, and, what's more, she is a physical comedian of considerable grace. She's the whole package as far as performance goes.
Okay I agree the girls are funnier than the guys except for Bill Hader and Seth Myers and Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis, who you guys mentioned. Oh yeah also except for Fred Armisen, Kenan Thompson, & Bobby Moynihan. Aside from those guys, the girls are definitely funnier. Oh yeah and the new guy Paul Brittain is possibly funnier too. I agree they are definitely funnier than Jay Pharoah.
