Why not just grab the 55"? The difference in size seems almost negligible, 8 inches wider and just 3 or so inches taller on the average. Bigger is better anyway.

Price is a big factor on why some of us wanted the 47". The $600 cost difference I have seen so far between the 47" and 55" is significant for my limited budget. This is why I will have to wait and see what the retailers will actually be selling the 55" for. If someone can sell it for around $2.8k-$2.9k then I may be making a new TV purchase when it is released in the US.

So I called ABT and they said August 24th as a release date for the LM9600, but J&R said early May. Which one is right? Right now I am having flashlight issues with my 7600 and might just return it all together.

I contacted LG and asked them about the 84LM9600 and if it was 4K and if it was going to be available this year. This is what I was told:

So the 84" is definitely going to be 4K and is planned for release in Sept-Oct.

Well , "Full Array" probably the best way to go , but I did see the 47" LM7600 and the picture quality was pretty good.

If there is no LM9600 47" , then I will have a close look at the LM8600.

I little something about full array , sometimes it can be too bright.

I tried Sony`s XBR929 last year I returned it , even with the ambient light adjustment turned on , it was still way to bright. I mean you had lower the brightness when you turned the lights off , or wear sunglasses !! LOL

I did not have a chance to see anything in 3D with the 929 , maybe that`s why it was so bright.

Unless the Panasonic 47" WT50 knocks my socks off , and the "active 3D " is better than "passive" , then I might take an even longer look at the 47LM8600

Is the LM8600 edge? I looked around, and could only find LED +.

Found it. It's edge lit. I might just go with a cheaper Vizio full array. My current TV is starting to go south.

I am so confused. Just checked the US LG web site and as of this morning they list the LM9600, including the 47"! The 55" and 60"" are listed as well. US LG Web Site

Maybe the LG customer service staff doesn't know what's going on either and gave false information? Does this mean the LM9600 is ready to be released now? Maybe we won't have to wait long after all!

At least it is finally on there web site!

I called last week " they didn`t know" / I wrote ( they never replied ).

And At this point , I would have to give the "Gold Star Find-of-the-Day" to "Luigo"

Thanks for posting what you have found , now the LM9600 is what I must wait for.
I was almost ready to pull-the-trigger on the LM8600 !

Now , the question that everyone who wants a 9600 47" is , WHEN O___When !

You used the word "definitely", LG has been trying to release a 72" for 2 years and it still has not hit the streets. We will see in Oct

I remember calling LG a year ago about the (then called) 72" LZ9700. That was one that was supposed to have been released here in the US, but was instead released in the United Arab Emirates. They told me it was not being released in the US, and of course it wasn't. On this one (84" LM9600), the three different people I contacted were all very positive that it was indeed going to be released in the Sept-Oct. time frame.

Of course as you say, LG's track record of releasing stuff demoed at CES isn't too good. Hopefully they make good on their promise this year. I really want this one.

WOW! 2600.00 for a 47? I am eleven hundred dollars happier that I bought the LG LV 9500 nano led local dimming 480 Hz 3D 55 in TV!

Glad I could make everyones day! I just hope it is all true.
I have never wanted a TV as much as this model. I am ready to upgrade from my current 46" Samsung DLP and this is the one for me. I may even splurge for the 55" since it will fit where my current TV sits.

The 55LM9600 went into mass production in Reynosa two weeks ago. And the 72LM9500 has been recently approved by the FCC.

That is probably the best in-depth review I have seen so far. Lots of good information and I am impressed with the TV even more. If the 3D vertical viewing angle, some dual game play bleeding, and the cost is all that is rated low, well I can't wait until it releases here in the US. I am buying one.

Since the North American variant of the 55LM9600 commenced its mass production run at the Reynosa, Mexico factory, it should be available real soon.

can you explain how this works. if the mexico plant went full production weeks ago then where have all those panel gone? do you know how many panels/day the mexico plant makes?

They are probably sitting in a warehouse somewhere waiting for a software up-date ! LOL

Although , this is no laughing matter , if they have started production , then lets get it shipped and to the folks who want one ( or 2 ).

The 2012 Olympics are coming , that in itself should be incentive enough for LG to get the ball rolling.

Least we not forget "kick-off"

Just ran across this product info page for the 84LM9600. This page, unlike the one on the LG Canada site, shows the resolution as 3840×2160. Even though this page is for LG in the United Arab Emirates, at least this may give an indication that this TV is being readied as an actual product release. LG US says it is being released this year. We'll see.
