You just got another order: Not to far to ship in Japan, Order #4072710
post #1022 of 3323
... and another order to go to Germany, Order #4072814. Since people seem to be experiencing problems with their payment not going through, could you please confirm that everything has gone through fine and let know when I can expect the solution to all my current problems to be ready?

Thanks everyone for playing idea generator, I already created my own patch for the HMZ-T1, even though my improvised accomplishment rather is based on having a counterweight to compensate the disbalance between the front and back side, so that ideally no pressure is resting on the nose anymore. However, I still am struggling with getting a sharp image over the entire screen, which appears to be unachievable due to insufficiently provided pupillary distance correction

So I finally gave in and ordered an hmz-t1 from Sony several days ago. At the time they said it would ship on 1/17/12, they also charged me $1. Since then my order status has said "processing" the entire time. Anyone know if this is normal for them? I'm used to places like Amazon and Newegg where orders get processed much more quickly.

Sony puts a trial $1 charge to ensure the card is valid, but they will not charge the card (not even the $1, that charge will only say pending) until they're about to ship the item.

Hi guys, I've been reading this thread with interest. I pre- ordered originally with StoneAudio but cancelled that after realising they had no chance of fulfilling orders until January and ordered instead from Sony on the 13 November.

I called today and was told they were receiving the last batch before xmas on the 6th December and they should all be out by the end of the week to those who had pre-ordered them.

Hi Moanjam welcome. Did they say that yours would be despatched this week or in Dec as I'm still waiting too but ordered mine the week before you.

After making my helmet mod it's easy to feel that the CofG of the Helmet makes a huge impact on the comfort. I've found trimming material off the front of my helmet is now making it fell like I'm hardly wearing anything. I may add a litle ballast to the back to try and perfect it.

Maybe it's worth taking off the plastic aft panel and seeing if the individual eye sliders can be separated?

Thanks for the video! The ultra light helmet seems to be a great place to start for getting the weight off the forehead for long periods of time.
The Adult 'light and airy' black helmet was a bit more expensive at my Walmart @ $21.97 and I'm going to keep some of the thin black ultra-light cosmetic plastic covering the polystyrene-core for looks. Almost no weight is added.
Also bought a package of 8" black cable ties for .87 cents that are almost invisible when used to secure the HMD.
Love the padding and especially the dial in the back that loosens and tightens for proper support and the pillow-soft-silicone earplug is a good idea that caresses ever-so-slightly if and when the bridge of the nose touches it for complete focal accessibility.

Your helmet modification is quite elaborated, I was thinking about doing the same, but then I remembered that I already had plenty of struggles with certain helmets in the past, so I refused using them at all. Regarding dismantling, I guess I would not dare to demount the unit, since I fear that the optical alignment might be suffering after reassembling it again.
Besides, I am already at the maximum of the PD correction, so it is questionable whether individual alignment can help. Blurry screen edges are mostly annoying when displaying my desktop, while it is not such a huge problem while watching movies etc.

Anyway, I am not the biggest mechanical tinkerer, so I just tried to counterbalance the unit a bit and thus far it as appropriately adequate, even though far away from being the maximally achievable optimum:

They said they were receiving stock on the 6th which is next Tuesday I think, and that they should all be out for delivery or in the delivery system by the end of the week.
After many conversations with myself I'm selling it. It's on Ebay right now under the seller HIMS616. If anyone here is interested, pm me.
@ HIMS: I just ordered from Bravia his contraption and if that fails mine will also go on the auction block. Pain is just to much to bare

It'll be interesting to see if Harrod's Sony store receive stock next week too. (They tell me they will, but their original batch was smaller than promised so I'm not holding my breath.) I currently have an order with both them and Stone Audio. I'm beginning to wish I'd just ordered using Sony online on day one. I'd have received mine weeks ago.

Man, I they follow through with that claim. I've been told everything under the sun since I ordered mine on Nov 3rd.

Hey guys, just woke up this morning and had 24 new orders All them seem fine except one, Ivan from Switzerland. The order went through but no payment in PayPal just yet. Might come soon though as maybe PayPal is verifying it.

This is a lot of orders and will take my wife quite some time, so everyone please be patient. We are also working possibly on a nose pad and if it works will ship free to all who have ordered already.

great to see that many ppl interested too. about the nose pad . you could cut similar shape to the nose strip but maybe smaller or cut to minimal as possible only where the nose will contact with the unit.

well done and i think your wife needs to give up day time job. lol
post #1045 of 3323
Haha, she likes her job to much!
ordered one too! I just shaved my head and I had crazy red marks all over the top and back of my head which looked like a rash, and some acne to boot (never get acne on head) because of the HMD, and I've not even used it in over 24 hours.

I hope your cushions can save my scalp. LOL.

I tried today BF3 with the TriDef 5.0 drivers and for me its not good for playing on the HMZ. The 3D Effect is very good but in the outdoor maps there is to much nature that I see only plants around me and I'm in this way a free for all victim. In 2D there is much less and for this shooter much better to play. Sometimes less is more.

For Strategic Games like Star Craft 2 and Supreme Commander the HMZ is showing the content very intense. If you scroll down the buildings and units are like looking out the screen.
