Hello again,

Been using my HMZ=T1 mainly for gaming racing and really need a microphone. Does anyone know of a good microphine or even better a neckband headset in true 5.1 I can use? I don't care if its expensive as I need it.

I really do not want to mod my HMZ. So any advise apreciated.

Take care all

I am using Tritton AX Pro Headphones. They are true 5.1, 4 speakers in each ear, you can control every channel separately and they have microphone, but you should delete headphones of T1.........in a short, you won't regret, because AX Pro 1000x better!

Good afternoon. Read the forum for a long time. I want to share remake Sony hmz-t1. More precisely addition to points, or how many points do not hurt, but one of the pads on the forehead).) Maud removed and worn like changing myagkooy pads on his forehead and held and tightened the rear straps. Points purchased several days ago. Once the glasses came immediately attached a strap from the top, the less steel to sit on his head, but decided not to go into this mode, because I love that everything was perfect))). Made measurements of the head, the frame cut out 8 mm PVC, in the middle of the design made a significant narrowing of that framework could be spring, rounded technical phenomenon in the form of his head, papered with dense black foam (it can be found in packages of video cards, etc.) . Pasted a headlamp trim (only plastic) into the base of the frame, the back side, for balance stuck car balance weight 180 g. (That would lead not stained by treating them with liquid acrylic plastic). Now the "Helmet" perfect fit on the head, does not outweigh or falls on the nose, and increased weight (and that's a plus about 300 gr.) Because of the balance is not there when in use, virtually no blurring at the edges and is barely visible on the desktop the upper corners of the desktop windows, (not even pay attention.) You can move your head in any direction, the image is "almost" not break very rarely corrected.

For total immersion, ordered 3 axle 9 degrees of freedom, Insertable tracker gyro sensor (gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and temperature sensor-All in one). It can programmatically emulate either a mouse or a joystick in any games or programms. the most important thing that he can keep the center of the screen, and when the rotating head in the game, and then return to head back to the center, the image does not go astray. Same as TrackIR5, only a hundred times cooler. The same plan used tracker on Oculus Rift. In place of it, until the sensor in a way, I use Logitech Air Mouse (sometimes feel dizzy and nauseated)
Here is the sensor.

I am not an avid gamer, but a little hooked on "HAWKEN" online game and that would please))) "of a loved one," has made a virtual chair, vibrate so that will not find, but with glasses)) - "almost complete" immersion in any game or film. For added versatility to the chair Version))), and sometimes drive i want.
Computer chair was taken "Pilot-2", vibration cape GameTrix JetSeat, convertible table for notebooks CBR, steering wheel Logitech MoMo, manipulators Razer Hydra (on chair under them made adapters for use as joysticks in any game), Keyboard and Mouse, tablet)).

Also use Virtual Audio Cable. It redirects the sound to several sources in Win7, such as goggles and vibrating chair (vibration cape GameTrix JetSeat use sound low frequency, or USB)

Sorry for my English (I use Google translater)

Hi guys.
First time poster..
i have had my hmz for a while now, but not used it for a bit.
Ive just picked it up and turned it on, after the welcome screen.. etc. it comes up with No signal.
Ive tried it on my xbox(as it was connected from last time i used it) and on my laptop.
Even tried different HDMI cables, but no joy - Still No Signal.

Any suggestions?

thanks!

This is the missing link from the original design, a top headband, sony failed.
Looks good that chair setup, imagine real VR/headtracking with it, perfect.
Thanks for sharing!

Трекер еще в пути. Мышь Logitech Mx Air Mouse пока в место него.

Tracker is still on the way. Mouse Logitech Mx Air Mouse while in his place.

The lower headband just broke. The unit is still under warranty, but from what I've read they charge way too much for the repairs. Should I still give it a try or just fix it myself?

My lower head band broke 6 months ago. Fixed it by applying super glue gel to the broken rubber end where I carefully held it together in the correct position until it bonded. Put black electric tape around the bonded area for extra support and visual blending. The bond seems stronger than ever.

You should report this to sony, so they can improve or sent you a replacement band.
Those hmz designers are really amateurs, using thin and flimsy bands.
Did they just test it few times for few minutes?

Yeah, that rear strap is cheap. Here is what I did when my strap broke, easy to fix and much more comfortable.

I got my headset from a forum member on Saturday and finally had some time the last couple nights to mess with it. Unfortunately, I started to rip the lower rubber strap while test fitting the unit to my head. I went to Home Depot last night and found some latex tubing in the plumbing aisle that is very stretchy and pliable so I bought some of that. I tore the rubber strap off and cut a section of tubing to size. I melted a hole in the left support arm and the inner diameter of the tubing allowed me to slip it right over the arm. I secured the left side with a plastic tab I found at work, poked it through the tubing and the hole then melted the tab on the back side. The tubing just slides over the right support arm as the loop on the end of the arm holds the tubing tight. I might secure the tubing with a couple wire ties eventually as well. The tubing is much more comfortable and doesn't pull on your hair.

I like that. It seems better than the stock version, even. Good job.
I'm wondering if encasing the rubber tube in some sort of a cloth sock structure might make it even more comfortable for those of us who don't have hair.tongue.gif Can't think off the top of my head what cloth tubing would be that narrow though.

Finally got another t1 after sending the first one back because of a problem. Great to have it again, but I have a question:

Does HDMI CONTROL not work with a PS3???
It's turned on via the t1, but doesn't work with my PS3. This seems very odd to me considering it's a Sony product with monthly software updates.

I am a bit bummed out because I accidentally dropped my HMZ-T1's processor. Don't ask me how I managed to do it, I take so much care in never scratching or doing anything to my HMZ (I never modified it or anything, it's just like new) and because of some stupid mistake I dropped the processor part and it banged itself on the ground really hard. Now it's making a weird sound when I shake it, as if something came loose in the inside. I already tested it and it seems to be working fine but I am a bit paranoid and feel like something may be permanently screwed... I hope not.

Anyway, can't wait for the hobbit in 3D.

So I just got one of these beauties today for the sweet price of $410.00. I love it. The only issue I have is trying to find the best way for it to sit on my head. I've removed the pad and it sits on my glasses, but over time that puts pressure on the bridge of my nose. With the pad installed on the second rung, it seems to put all of it's weight on the tip of my nose. Any tips?

Don't Put the pressure over your nose. The device must Put the Weight in the front pad and in the rear rubber. Follow the instructions, your have you set it horizontally from your forehead to your ears, don't letras it go Down yo your nose's brinde.

See, no matter which pad I use I can't seem to keep it from slipping and resting on my nose. I've tried every notch on the top and bottom rubbers, as well as on the sides. It just wants to slip down to my nose.

It just seems the best way for it not to slip is for it to not have a pad on and to have it rest on the bridge of my nose. The problem is then there's too much pressure there. With any of the pads it seems to try and slip up as I tighten it on. I'm following the directions in the book to a T, but it just doesn't seem to work.

If you have those problems, try to tighten the rear Cord, until the device goes horizontally. To consolidate that position, adjust the upper "diadem" until You can feel all the device horizontally Adjusted. Remember to tighten rear rubber and upper "diadem". Sorry for my english. If you have any question, please ask it. I'll try to incluye those advices in my blog.

I've tried every single combination with each strap and either it goes up or goes down and rests on my nose. I can't just seem to keep it straight.

1- use the Standard front pad.
2 - Open the lateral supports completely.
3 - put your head into the device, try to set the center of the screens with the center of your leyes.
4 - gently, tighten lateral supports until you fill all the device fixed to your head.
5 - it's important that you don't feel here any pressure in your nose. All the device must be horizontally fixed.
6 - the "diadem" and rear base head rubber must be completely fixed to your head, you need to feel pressure in the front of your head and in the base of your head.

Note: if the problem continues, use the highest front pad, that will avoid the problem.

Hope it helps.

Well, I just took the hard route and strapped it to a hard hat. It's much more comfortable and easier to switch from person to person. Now I've just gotta tidy up my work and make it a bit more comfortable.

Sure, let me get it comfortable enough and clean enough to show off and I'll take some photos of where I've strapped it in. I will say that I used a dremel on the hard hat though.
