Everyone needs to check out gangster squad. Great bass to push your new Psa sub smile.gif. Not a half bad movie. Fun

I had both my XV-30's near field and moved them to the front corners and WOW!! Surprisingly so much better.

I have both my xv15's nearfield and they rock!! I spent 2 weeks moving the subs around and each side of the couch is sooooo much better. However I have a 6ft opening in the left side of my room, so im sure that has something to do with the lack luster performance up front.

So are you saying it's better for you up front in the corners or near field?

I agree. If I remember correctly it had some good gun shots that sounded nice.

Finally gotten my XV15 shipped to me to Singapore yesterday. Paid quite a bit in shipping but overall it's still affordable.

Ran Antimode today and demoed a few clips.

One word: AWESOME!

It's the most value for money sub I've heard and blows many subs away.
Low bass, Mid bass you name it, the XV15 has it.
My heart was thumping every time a punch landed or an explosion happen.

PSA really has an amazing product and I don't dare to even think how a XS30 or XV30 will sound.

Thank you Tom!

I just placed an order for a XV-15. Tom was really helpful when I e-mailed him a few weeks ago. He said I could probably get away with an XS-15, but he recommended the XV-15. The amp in my old subwoofer died about a month ago, so I haven't had a subwoofer for about a month and it's been killing me. I can't wait to get it.

Cambridge Soundworks P500. Dual 8" opposing side firing drivers sealed sub with 500 watt BASH amplifier. In my opinion it was very musical sub. I'm expecting the XV-15 to have much more punch, but I really miss the fullness a sub adds to normal tv viewing.

Agreed.
Took me almost 1 month of waiting from the shipping date to arriving at my place.
Transhipment and customs were terrible.
But totally glad it's here and 100% worth the wait.

That is swsweet! I bet two will crack concrete! Nice, I keep thinking about dumping my DIY sealed 18 and going with 2 XV-30's. Tom thinks they would work well in my 5,000 cu ft basement, but since I already have a sealed sub he thought the XS line would be better. This stuff can give a person a headache as there are no right answers (but lots of wrong ones).

Yeah. Shipping to Singapore takes quite a while.
Saw that you have your 2nd XV-30.
Congrats!
1 XV-15 is already rattling my doors and windows.
Can't imagine 2 XV-30s in your place.biggrin.gif

I thought I felt an earthquake here in Cambodia, but I guess it was you testing your new sub!

I like my DIY sub, but with sealed you need multiples to dig really low in a space as large as my open basement. I would like to be able to reproduce at least 90% of the signal on a blu ray, I know many movies have content down in the single digits. I also want to be able to do reference level without breaking anything (speaker wise). I may never actually play a movie at reference, I am usually at -10 to theoccasional -5 if just me and -15 with wife and daughter (calibrate all speakers to 75 dB with Onkyo 805 reciever and SPL meter). Using REW my DIY sub starts to significantly roll off in the mid 20's. However, it does a great job for music - for the SACD's of Nat King Cole I have to turn it off due to excessive low freq noise I assume is from a subway picked up during the original recording session. It is very annoying, but not the fault of the sub.

I have thought about getting an XS-30 and pair it with the DIY, but also have thought about building 3 more sealed 18" DIY subs (using either Stereo Integrity or Dayton Audio drivers). To many options...

My XS30 has reached its shipping destination, and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow! I seriously feel like a 6yr old on Christmas Eve. So excited I'll barely be able to sleep tonight!

Picked up my xv15 from fedex last week and wow it is a nice sub. I am coming from 2 klipsch rw-12ds (moved and new tv room is smaller). I never really understood what muddy and boomy bass sounded like until now. The xv15 sounds much better and it does not have the port chuffing that my both my klipsch suffered from. Very happy with my purchase.

Congrats, i used to have dual RW-12d's, they were great for the price, then i got the Empire, wich sounded much better, but i loved the smoothness of duals, so i had to get another Empire, now i have a PSA XV-30 and will be getting my second one on Thursday:D
post #2548 of 10056
How are you liking that XV30 now Josh?
Good, to my ears it sounds different from the XS-30, but i switched the PHASE to 180, and it sounds better, i find that wierd as its in the front of the room, and ive never had a SUB WOOFER sound better with the PHASE at 180. All i have to do now is wait patiently until Thursday, to see how 2 XV-30's will do in my room.....

Getting closer to my dual XS15's coming home on Thursday! biggrin.gif
