You're right but I also spent about $4600 this year on three JTR Noesis 228HT's and a Sherbourn PA 7-350 amp. So any new sub purchase will have to wait until next year.

I wish I had known about this sale I woulda jumped on one of those amps in a heartbeat. I seen the forum post about it here like 2 weeks after they were all scooped up. /cry

All of the testing has been very consistent I just don't like to post anything until we have multiple data sets for each product.. edit---these numbers do include the triple opposed compensation per Josh Ricci.

Frequency response (both before and after DSP "shaping")was improved as well.

I don't like the idea of the weight and cost increasing but I can't argue against the performance of the new drivers.

Yeah $999 for a Sherbourn PA 7-350 delivered was an AMAZING deal! The list price on that amp when it came out a couple years ago was $3700!!
And it has a 10year warranty.

At first I was looking at getting a sec generation Emotiva XPA-3 but there was no way I was passing up the PA 7-350. I'm only using it to power my LCR's so it rated to deliver 850w @ 4ohm 3-channel.

Congrats as seven 350w channels in one Amp for $999.00, no matter how one tries to say it, that's a screaming good deal.

I was hoping for next week as well since I'm off all week (plenty of time to play!).

The fact I'm getting a Triax just got a bit more real......the credit card bill arrived!

Your above brings to mind the below:

Man walks into a bar and sadly orders a drink.

Bartender says to the man; why so sad.

Man responds; I'm lonely.

Bartender to the man; but you're married.

Man to bartender; I am? tongue.gif

The hardest part has to be the waiting and I can see it's killing you guys waiting on the subwoofer to arrive. Makes one want to run right out and order one themselves but it's too much party for this old man. Can't wait to read the slew of pending reports when posted.

I sent an email to Tom yesterday and he was mean and teased me and offered me a great deal on a second Triax so I'll be ordering another one tomorrow.

I also went ahead and ordered a UMIK-1 mic from MiniDSP yesterday. I realize as most of you have told me that if I'm gonna be spending this much on a single sub (let alone 2) I should spend a tiny sum of money to have them working as best as they can. Not sure if I'll need a MiniDSP itself or not yet....I guess I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

DO IT! ....lol seriously this will pretty much be your only chance to get a second Triax before what I would guess will be a pretty good price increase due to newer more expensive drivers and extra weight for added shipping costs.

Down at the bottom it has a note for us Mac users if you can't get REW to work correctly. I haven't tried it yet as I don't have a mic to test with and haven't worked with REW but if I can't get that to work even with their fix I have a backup Win7 laptop I can use.

Hi jarretc, in the REW thread (here) a member J_P_A was able to use REW with Mac and posted steps.
Guys, do you have any suggestions for me until I get the mic and download REW for calibrating the Triax with the Galaxy CM-140. I've read the pink noise generated by the receiver is not very stable for adjusting the subwoofer and a Test Tone CD should be used. So please give me some advice to at least get started with the Triax without REW and a mic.
Thanks, Jeff
