Coming from the guy that has massive mae x drivers. smile.gif

Auh, but here is the clincher. It takes 18”s powered accordingly to keep up in simple! To surpass, more power than what many use. That's all I'm sayin smile.gif

Brian graphs look good, but yes you have to run the sweep at 80db or more to get past the noise floor, you will know when you hit the right spl.

I decided it was time to upgrade my audio gear. I have a question about my new sub.

My Old Gear:
Pioneer 1121 Receiver
Polk DSW Pro 600 Sub
Polk Monitor 70 Mains
Polk Monitor 30 Rears
Polk CS2 Center

My New Gear:
Pioneer 1222 Receiver
PSA XV15 Sub
Polk RTIA9 Mains
Polk F/XiA6 Rears
Polk CSiA6 Center

After running my AVR calibration, it set my sub to -3. I currently have the subs gain knob set at the 2 o'clock position. Using a DTS demo bluray disc I played some clips and found turning the AVR sub gain up to +6, of course resulted in more bass that I was pleased with vs the -3 the AVR auto set the sub to.

Am I causing the boomy bass now that people don't like, and I really need another sub to get more bass due to my large open house floor plan? I highly doubt I'm harming the sub as it feels like a tank, of course I could be wrong. My AVR crossover is set to 80, mains set to small. I have the sub crossover knob set to LFE (max clockwise). We enjoy watching our movies at volume -15. Thx.

^ What I recommend doing is turning the sub amp to 3:00 and backing the AVR gain down to 0. Other then that the setup looks good smile.gif
Next step would be to purchase a umm-6 mic and download REW to measure your room response. Peaks in the FR can cause a boomy response.

Me neither BRO, i need BASS (forgot what it sounded like) LOL, but yes i believe they should FINALLY ship this week.
^Why did you ship your XV30 back so soon? I would of waited until the Triax ship date was confirmed...but maybe that makes too much sense lol. tongue.gif
post #6308 of 10096
Because they WERE supposed to ship like 2 weeks after i returned them, PLUS i had help.
do you have i time machine so i can go back and not return them so soon?
Not sure what Tom told you but he emailed me a few weeks back asking me to ship back my XV30F. He never stated at that time that there were any current guarantees on when the Triax would ship, he just had an estimate which I was fine with.

I know quite a few people have been waiting longer than me but at least Tom has been upfront and transparent about the whole issue with the first set of drivers. Most companies nowadays would have never explained in detail and would just keep saying "soon".

i talked to him over a month ago, he said the drivers should be there by the end of the month, that was the end of August.
Cancel your order then so I can get my Triax that much earlier then biggrin.gif
post #6313 of 10096

Man world war Z was crazy! Can't wait to watch it again with the Triax. Star Trek was amazing, awesome visuals and the sound track was out of this world. I was going to watch Pacific Rim last night but decided to wait for the Triax first. Next up on the list will be fast and furious 6, man of steel, hangover III, despicable me 2, RIPD, the conjuring, insidious 2, Thor 2, and the Riddick. Well I'm going to have plenty to watch with the Triax not to mention the xbox one, I've got 22 games preordered but I already know that ill prob end up only having time to play a few eek.gif
