Also, I put a little piece of painters tape on the bottom of all my gear with the price I REALLY paid , just in case something happens to me, she doesn't sell it at a yard sale based on what I TOLD her I spent. eek.gif
YMMV

I know, they can be so naive. One time my wife found a couple grand under the rug, I forget how I got out of that one?? My next sub had to wait though, that I do remember. biggrin.gif

I think for the most part, stuff we like is a foreign language to women. If it's not cloths, kitchenware, furniture or a garage sale they'd rather not know than to see us come home with a new toy! That $ could of went to something for the house, or cloths, or a purse! I remember in past relationship, every time I bought something I'd always say it costed way less than it really was and that usually worked until someone would walk up and say "man when you got that? That's $10k bro!" Shut up, it was $200 on craigslist, let's go honey, I don't know that person! biggrin.gif

I think everyone hides stuff they purchase from their wife. My wife still hasn't noticed the new LaScala that I got for my center channel... I covered it with some black velvet and put it right under the screen. I had to let her see the 1st pair of LaScalas as they were in need of prep work.

Haha mission complete! You did the confusion tactic, buy a couple speakers as a decoy then sneak more in while she's distracted. After all, who's counting? Well, I'm sure some would count lol. Get some more and just put some plants on them, " look babe, stands for some stupid plants, see I do care " I've seen some subwoofers that look just like furniture, smart companies!

How do you think I got my 4520... I had a 2807 and a 3806, I sold one and got the 4520ci and then gave the 3806 to a friend.

That's true too, sometimes if you swap something out such as a receiver, then they'd prob wouldnt know. I mean if they actually knew you have a different model receiver then that'd be impressive. If I wasn't single and I tried to sneak in the Triax then I'd be in trouble! I'd be sent back to PSA on the same pallet until I came back with a refund eek.gif or I could try the bribing tactic," I know honey, I'm sorry I promise this is the last speaker, what was that you said you wanted yesterday?" smile.gif

Is there any new Triax [ news out there?

my move, is telling her about most companies free in home trial...I say I am jst testing it out to see if it sounds better...

then the new item always stays...so my tactic with xv15 #2 or xxs30 will be I am keeping it for the 30 days...and she will go back...it just never goes back...then she will say wtf? so I say ok ill sell the first one...then claim poor economy on why it wont sell, and might as well use it while trying to sell it.

everyone follow that one?
^^^ LOL Ahh! now I understand your pricing scheme Brian. I owe you a big apology. wink.gif

actually no you dont...

I am only selling the xv15 IF I get exactly what I want for it...if I cant get that I wont sell it...that simple...no need to take a huge hit for it...just to move it

^^^ I hear you Brian. I've been mostly playin cool.gif

I just sent Tom V an email asking what he thought of mixing the XV15 with an XS30..

I WOULD just get another XV15...but cant fathom spending 100$ on the base version so it matches.;

I also did the right thing witrh the wife,,,,and just asked if she would be mad if i bought a second sub...waiting her response...lol not sure why i did it...i guess t feels better with her blessing

Did you miss my post about Tom giving you a discount on the base plate version? It will not be 100.00 more, it will be 5x.00 more.

I might of worded that wrong...repeat customers get a discount, I do not think you will get money off the baseplate plus a discount on top. Basically a repeat customer would get the 899.00 base plate XV15 for 859.00 or the 849.00 base plate XS15 for 806.00.

Maybe I missed the announcement, I didn't see anything on the news page, about the BASE versions. I noticed they have a base attached like my X-Sub and are $100 more. Otherwise I didn't see any spec differences between the non-base. Could someone fill me in as to why the base version is worth $100 more?

I guess I'm confused as to why they would make the model if there isn't a problem with the XV15. Is the original model prone to tipping over? Or is it an aesthetic thing?
If asking about the change of the base, it weighs a bunch and adds to the shipping costs.

Oh no, I understood you. Otherwise I'd be flippin' PSA subwoofers for fun + profit biggrin.gif

Actually the original XV15 and XS15 came with the base. Later, in order to avoid a price increase, they removed the base and offered it as an additional cost option.

Base or no base, the performance is the same. It just a matter of cosmetics; some prefer the look of the base and some already own the original version and want another to match.

Should be no difference in sound but the base plate version may do a better job of staying put on tile, vinyl, or wood flooring. Some have reported the peg leg version dancing around on those surfaces.
