I waited 3 1/2 weeks for mine, it seemed like a long time, but they are worth the wait. Gonna watch Despicable Me with my son tonight, and after he goes to bed, maybe TDKR or the new Bourne movie. Hope I don't shake him out of bed.

Here is how mine are set up. It sounds/feels great to me. I really don't have other placement options, room set up and WAF.

Well then, now that you have real subs you need a real center channel. tongue.gif That poor thing looks tiny next to those hulking beasts.

It looks fine , but having the Acoustic panel there would cause me greater concern.

It does look small, but I'm happy with the way it performs. "That's what she said" I'm actually looking to upgrade to the GoldenEar supersat 60 which is bigger.

Very nice setup you got there. These subs do make a bold statement in your setup.

Looks good man. I will try to orient my subs like the way you have done and see how it sounds.

Just thinking.., that the panel will take away some of the sound reflection from the wall into you seating area.
If it's working for you then there's no problem. smile.gif

Yes, I learned that on my XV15 when I got it. I initially placed it in a corner and it sounded muffled. After I did a sub crawl through my entire living room, the G-spot was only 5 inches more away from the wall where I had it originally. NIGHT and DAY!

So my advice, when people do their sub crawls take the time, have patience to go over every inch of your room. It will make an astounding difference in the end.

Thanks MM,
All I can say is everything these owner are saying about the XS30 is absolutely TRUE. smile.gif
It is an awesome unit and performs great for both Music and Movies.

I was getting good sounding bass with my Hsu's with plenty of rumble, but the XS30 turns that rumble into vibrations that shakes the room.
In War of the worlds BD.... scenes when lighting is striking in the backyard, when tripod emerges and when plane crashes outside of the house are amazing. I can feel the couches shake and hear the two doors into the room vibrating.
I was getting this with the actors regular speech at 75 dBs at the start of the movie and LFE scenes were hittin 90 dBs.

In music it really digs deep and sounds outstanding, The test song Bass I Love You never sounded better.

But to honest, nothing has been measured except with Audyssey and my trusty SPL meter, And MY EARS.biggrin.gif

Also please excuse me for incorrect terms, I really am new to Audio/ Video.smile.gif

I had the same feelings with my XV15. PSA makes a fantastic product, incredible customer service... You can't go wrong. The XV15 performs very well with music and movies equally...

Love this sub. And really love the way it looks. I really like not having a grill on it. Makes it look more like a peice of furniture.

The output really is insane. And right for music. But if you havnt had a chance watch underworld:awakening where the super lyken first shows up. The footsteps is redicilous

Bass is not as smooth as running with the duals.
Definetely, bass has more weight when running duals. Also, bass is not very even with single as compared to dual. I feel the bass running with the duals is much deeper and overall adds MUCH better definition. Also, when running duals I am never able to localize where the bass is coming from and the bass is all over my theater. Running duals pressurizes my 6000 cu feet room MUCH better than running a single XS30.

Please note these are my impressions. I have not gathered any scientific measurements.

At some point I am hoping to run REW and understand the FR in my room better.

Right now, I am EXTREMELY happy with the dual XS30s. My wife who is not as crazy as me with the sound quality is able to appreciate the quality. She is like the explosion and other effects are very realistic. She still thinks that I bought XV15, which is cheaper than XS30 biggrin.gif

suresh6877,

Thanks for doing that. You pretty much confirmed my suspicions in that for a space the size of ours, two are going to be needed to get the results I would really want. I’m aware of the advantages that multiple subs can deliver, however I had a sliver of hope that you might have said something like “even with only one running, it was very impressive and I think I could live with it set-up that way”.

Thanks again for posting your results. My saving for two of them will just have to continue but I know that the effort will be worth it.

Had a bunch of people over last night and they were all amazed at the output of my XV15. While Im sure having 2 would be better I just dont know why?
Maybe I'm just new to the sub scene, maybe I will become USED to the bass and want more later, but for now I am totally satisfied...and my room is huge.

My pleasure !
I agree it will be worth the effort going duals in a space like yours and mine.

Suresh did you orient your subs like mine?

that what a panel is suppose to do... direct reflections ... is a 1st order acoustical distortion.. good room treatment should be applied to rooms.. even if you have an adussey room correction avr...

cheers
