Believe it or not my XV15 sounds its loudest approx 18' behind and to the right of the main listening position. That is just with a RS SPL meter though. I still need to figure out REW to run some tests as it's a tad boomy back there.

I've added new photos showing the XS30 and comparisons to the Miller & Kreisel V-75 12" sub...

The freight driver thought I was nuts.

Couple of pics of my new HT with dual XV15s. I still have a couple of bass traps to install and then I'll really work on getting them dialed in. Thus far, though, I'm quite pleased.

What kind of speaker mount/hanger is that you have hanging on the left side of this pic? I need something like that for my HT. I have nowhere to mount my right rear surround speaker, I need to hang it from the ceiling and angle it down a bit, that mount of yours looks VERY interesting. smile.gif

Bill, thanks for the comments. Read before posting. Would save a bit of finger tiredness. rolleyes.gif

Try closing every door in the house, and calibrate. Save the PEQ setting in "Manual", and write down the volume levels for the channels. Then open everything back up, and calibrate. Find a happy medium with the subwoofer gains to cover both setups. I think you'll be real happy with the results, and can switch between them as needed For example, don't have the bedroon door closed at night. Your wife might walk right into it, and be, uhh, somewhat displeased...yes, I speak from experience...

I wish! Its a looooong room, (what you see pictured is the short wall). The other end of the room is the dining room. So my couch is sitting in the middle of this long room. Nearly the worst place possible for a couch to be located. Unfortunately, its the only place that works if I want to use my projector/screen. Sad face.

You may get better results with the subs located to the left and right of the seating position. With high aspect ratio rooms you'll usually get the best results with the screen on one of the long walls, making the room wide and shallow, rather than narrow and deep.

Here's the first run with the OmniMic...turns out I'm getting more room gain than I thought. smile.gif

Left:

I was very surprised how flat the response was when positioning the XS30 on the left side of the room. It doesn't sound as good as positioning it on the right side but the response isn't quite as flat there. I think it's because when positioned on the right side I'm getting almost a 10db boost around 25hz and I guess I like that. wink.gif

Right:

Notice the NULL that's obviously experienced from the main listening position at 40hz. I guess I need another XS30. LOL! tongue.gif

NOTE: there is no smoothing used on the FR graphs...

Just watched Battleship. My god, that movie gave these subs a workout. biggrin.gif

Watched the new Underworld movie tonight in 3D, wow what great sounding movie, lots of Bass when the super-lycan comes out. Plus Kate Beckinsale looking smoking hot as ever is a bonus. Finished the movie just in time for the power to go out for 6 hours because of the snow storm. mad.gif

What irks me the most about Purolator is, I pay for example say 27 dollars for shipping an item to me, now most people are at work during the day when delivery trucks try to make a delivery. So I pay 27 bucks or whatever shipping is on my item, and I have to drive over to the Purolator depot half way across the city, to pick my package up myself (the next Day) because they wont leave your item at the door, or around back, at the side of the house, wherever. I pay for the item to be delivered to my door, and I have to go pick it up myself because they dont do a second delivery attempt either. I realize Purolator doesnt want to be responsible for "lost" (read: Stolen) items they have left on someones doorstep but why are people paying for a delivery service when they have to do part of it themselves.
I dont have any recent incidents because I havent used Purolator in years because of the facts I pointed out, and I choose other couriers over Purolator for the same reasons when I choose my carriers during checkout while online shopping.

Usually the option to leave a shipment without a signature is the sellers choice. Sometimes you may request that the seller specify delivery without a signature, sometimes you may be able to do so with the shipper. But almost never is it the shipper's call.

Hello Slingblayde,

Purolator offers many options that suit your needs. To many points across Canada, we offer an evening delivery service and even a Saturday delivery service. Our deliveries require a signature by defaut but the "signature not required" service can be selected by the sender. If that option is selected on a package, it can be left at the door or at a specified location.

For more information, you can visite our webstie www.purolator.com or contact us at the below email address.

Thermoform congrats! Once you get that second one in your setup you'll wonder why you didn't start with two right from the start! I love my dual XS30 setup.

How do you like the sound of opposing drivers as opposed to single driver based subwoofers?

Where in the room did you place your first XS30?
