Quote:I had not considered a USB cable. I already have a mic and external sound card, so I don't think a USB mic is in my future. USB for other uses is not a bad idea. Actually, along those lines while I was getting some work done today, it was suggested that a cell-phone charging station would be nice OUTSIDE the theater, with a clever note to the effect of "please your your phone outside my theater." or "Friends don't let friends text during movies."

- Do you need any IR blasters in the room? IIRC you are putting your GE in the equipment closet, so you may not need it.
- Are you planning a network drop in your riser?
GE will definitely be in the closet. I still don't know how all that stuff might get integrated and automated, but a cat cable near the screen should do it - if I understood TMcG correctly.
There are a couple unassigned network cables into the riser scheduled. They might be used for computer network access, but I was figuring I would just put a WiFi extender in the closet - is that a bad idea?
And the cables are on the way.
