I've identified a problem with both of my copies of Meet the Robinsons 3D and Bolt 3D, both purchased through Amazon. When I'm watching either movie on my PN64D8000 through either my BDT-210 or PS3, I notice it having issues with the left and right side letterboxing. They will constantly change size and shape, going from either straight lines to a trapezoidal effect. What's weirder is that if you turn the 3d effect off, the same kind of effect continues on the 2D version. I even checked the 2DBR disc and the issue does not exist there; it is native to the 3D version.
At first I thought it was an issue with the 3D disc itself and requested a replacement of Bolt through Amazon. Once the replacement arrived, I noticed it had the same exact issue.
I've tested it on both the PS3 and the Panny BDT-210 with the same results. I have no other 3D display to test this through, so my preliminary guess is it's either the TV or Disney has decided to go forward with a new means of encoding for 3D that doesn't play well with 3DTVs.
Anyone have insight or a way to help me out? My son could care less while watching, but it literally drives me up the wall.
*Update*
I was curious, so I went on to Vudu from my PS3 to see if it was specific to the BD that I had purchased. Turns out it had the same issues. Now I'm really confused as Samsung hasn't released an update for their TVs since version 1022.
