Whoa, that's a mighty tall order, sir!

Anyhoot, I got my copy today and will put in my 2 pennies later.

I was referring to the post Morpheo was replying to. 

I'm not a Joss Whedon penis rider so I can see a movie that's better. Avengers was fun for a popcorn flick Dredd is a better popcorn flick for me. It's up there with Robocop.

Same but I'll even add in that Avengers was kinda ...boring. I mean it was good and what does it for me the most is the pure continuity from movie and to movie.

Dredd was awesome though. Simple plot, yes but good ol' proper rated R fun. I've had enough super/comicbook heros. A decade full.

NOW you have my attention...Robo is one of my all-time Favs.

Damn, what's all this rage I read on AICN talk back and here about Dredd, was it that awesome? Man I hope so cause the last few movies I've seen to me were just horrendous: RE: Retribution, Total Recall, Killer Joe, and of course the biggest dud of them all LOOPER. Well hope u guys are right on this as NF sent me a nice fresh copy today. And if it's that good it will erase all the previous garbage from my database.

Wow, that good eh? This was barely a blip on my radar and the blip was only for Karl Urban who is usually pretty good.

As for Looper, NF will have it to me tomorrow so I'm staying out of the debate until I've seen it

Dredd is Robocop good.

Well, if you feel that those are garbage, then erasing them would be a practical decision no matter what.

I don't think you understand, whenever I see bad films they stay in my head until a good one at least in my mind comes along and replaces it. Until then, it just sits there like stale left overs.

It would suck to have the bad movies sit on my mind. I'm also glad they aren't like the Highlander and there can be more than one.

Everything Wrong With Looper In 3 Minutes Or Less

I don't recommend it. Tried it for a while but decided I liked women too much...

Late to the party on this one. You guys are hard. How many halfway decent, or dare I say GOOD, Scifi's are released every year? NOT MANY.

I thought this was pretty good and enjoyed the two hours. Very nice AV and a good story that made a different shift, for me, part way through and raised it above your typical hollywood crap. Other than JGL's CGI face, I can't complain. (I thought he looked more like Luke Perry than Bruce Willis)

If Dredd is as good as Robocop, I will really be happy!

FYI - JGL's "young Bruce" involved 0% CGI - all makeup.

JGL: There was no CGI. At some point, digital solutions were suggested, and both (director) Rian (Johnson) and I were immediately not interested. I don't think it looks real -- yet. Maybe one day, but not yet. So that left makeup. And I had worked with a brilliant makeup artist named Kazuhiro Suji, and he did my makeup on "G.I. Joe." He's a magician, Kazu. Ask any makeup artist in the business, they'll be like, "Oh, wow, Kazu," and for good reason. And he was reticent, because Bruce and I look so little alike. But we didn't think we had to make us look exactly alike. We just had to do something -- enough -- to let the audience know that this character and this character are supposed to be the same person. I also designed a character around [Bruce]. I studied him and I studied his movies. I would rip his voice off of his movies and listen to him on my iPod, and he even recorded himself doing some of my voiceover monologues and sent me that recording so I could hear what he would sound like saying it. But the most helpful thing was just getting to know him, hanging out with him, spending time, going to dinner, and letting it seep in.

A few key elements missing for that status but yes, close enough that I ordered a copy yesterday. Looking forward to re-watching in 3D

Yes, you or that guy should do one for Avatar too. This was not for the sillyness like Looper for but the biggest over rated film perhaps ever. Hold on, I think you like Avatar.

As noted in an earlier post the internal inconsistencies in Looper didn't bother me much and I rather liked it, 7 Stars out of 10. Avatar, however, is one of my all time favorite big budget fantasy films. It is the only movie I have seen in 3D that genuinely transported me. 10 Stars out of 10. What the hell, though, differences of opinion such as ours are what make discussing this kind of stuff such fun.

I don’t know about that. You could be the target of the new fad of bats*t crazies who draw up petitions to have people deported who don’t agree with their point of view.
