You got that right, partner. I go out of my way to ignore the ravings of wing nuts regardless of their particular political persuasion.

Totally enjoyed it, even in regular DVD. Still can't stand the lens flare.

I always find JGL's acting range superb for his age, ever since GI Joe, Inception and TDKR.

Time travel is always a great theme in any science fiction and this one is exceptionally well done, comparable to Twelve Monkeys.

Don't know why Emily Blunt had her hair dyed in blonde. Does it matter to the plot? The cussing was awful.

The Rainmaker is awesome.

This one is a keeper among the current crop of sci-fi..

As was discussed above, it was just a dumb thing to do.

Huh? I thought you already saw The Rainmaker. confused.gif

Sorry for the confusion.

The Rainmaker is a character in Looper while Matt Damon is in another movie also called Rainmaker from last century.

Cussing = cursing.

Oh, that. Yeah, this internet posting is not so great at communicating. frown.gif

I'm sure oink knows that but what I think he wondered may be why you felt that the cussing was awful in a R rated movie. Compared to Tony Montana in Scarface... eek.gif

Yeah, that.

I didn't notice an abundance of cussing/cursing in this movie...it's R-rated, kinda part of the deal...

Scarface - yes. Reminds me of any of Tarantino's movies.

Guess shows my age.

Like s**t hot spankable bad cursing?

Saw this movie last night. I have mixed feelings about it. I think I liked it. I've decided in my mind that Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
the mother turns out to be pregnant from the one night stand with Looper Jr. And the baby Rainmaker becomes crazy jealous of his baby sibling and ends up doing all the bad things that happened in Looper Snr's time. So Looper Jr killing himself made no difference in the end.
Lol

The movie isn't great...simply a one-shot IMO.

I wanted to like the movie. It had elements that should have made it good: Bruce Willis, Emily Blunt, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, time travel. Nope. Twenty minutes into it I found myself bored and disliking it. It did not improve.

There was only one redeeming feature about it, and it's not enough to make me watch it again: the unexpected nekkid Piper Perabo scene. That woman has one fine body.

One and half stars out of 5, two if I'm in a good mood. I'm not.

For a 12 year old boy. A yardstick has more curves. Just sayin'...

She's stupidly hot, dude. If you are in love with a woman so bad that you could just bite her in half, it's nice to know that you could actually do it if necessary.

+1! If there is a more sensationally beautiful woman anywhere than Piper Perabo, I don't know who she would be. I certainly wouldn't call Perabo buxom but she is a long way from angular.

Yeah, I thought I'd hear from you after I posted that gw. I know how you feel about her from the 'Covert Affairs' thread. tongue.gif

You've obviously never seen her in short shorts or tights. The woman has a spectacular behind and great legs. There's more to curves than boobies.
There's even more to boobies than curves... seemingly, though it's not necessarily been proven scientifically.

I return to this long dormant threat to report that I have finally seen Looper again, for the first time since I saw it in the theater. I liked it before but because of its intricate plot, didn't fully appreciate it until the second time through. It is showing on STARZ this month, give it a try if you were underwhelmed the first time through,I think you will like it more. Although I gave Looper a rating of 7 Stars out of 10 after I saw it in the theater, this time I gave it a solid 8 Stars with a clear conscience.

I should make clear that I may be prejudiced where this film is concerned because the actresses who may be my two favorites these days, Emily Blunt, and Piper Perabo, were featured. I do love those girls. smile.gif

Piper could make me a little loopy.
