Update to my Update (happier update) ----

I pulled out all the RAM except 1 stick and got everything to boot properly. I concluded, I have a bad stick just need to find out which one.

Pull out all the ram and put a single stick back in. Does it boot? Find the jumper on the motherboard that clears the CMOS. Does it boot? Plug the monitor in to the onboard GPU. What happens?

At that [all the above] point I'd also look at BIOS versions & what they fixed & flash back/fwd -- at least before you determined it was a bad stick.

I'll be running memtest & spinrite on my new laptop before trusting it. I have a hard time trusting HDD after my Macbook had a lemon.
